I went months in the pandemic without my hairdresser, and my hair ended up getting so damaged from styling that I was desperate for a cut. I purchased the one with the scissors because I didn't have hair shears at home. The shears are good quality, and the level clips are easy to use. I did the front, and actually trusted my husband to finish the back! Don't tell my hairdresser, but I may not need to go back to a salon when it's safe to be around people again. I tried it on my 5 year old son's hair, and he was a little too impatient, and only let me cut half his hair. I'll probably just stick to the clippers for his hair. But I think this is worth investing in. It's about the price of one hair cut a the salon.

After using my mother's creaclips for the last few years I finally took the plunge and ordered my own. Now I can effortlessly keep my hair free from split/dead ends without having to hassle my mother during our limited time together. (She lives a few hours away.) There have been occasions where I tried to replicate the process by using a large text book against the back of a chair. It worked but it was much more involved, incredibly uncomfortable, and downright silly. My 12 year old daughter is something of a fashionista and is thrilled to have a mom who can change up her hair style any time she takes a notion to do so. We've done various layered looks and she's currently sporting something of a longer version of an angled bob with chunky layers. It's adorable, and I DID THAT! I attempted to use it for a shorter cut on my oldest son when his hair was a bit longer, but ultimately decided it was easier to just wing it with fingers, scissors and clippers, but I'm sure I could've pulled it off on a kid with thinner hair. His hair is ridiculously thick and unmanageable. Bottom line, I'm still saving a ton of money on haircuts using these for just me and my daughter. I've always been something of a cheapskate so these are a definite MUST HAVE in my house! I'm super grateful to the genius who invented them!

I received this quick and it was packaged well. As to the quality of the product itself, I like it. I like the idea of not having to run around to get my haircut and this seems to be a good alternative. I gave it only 4 stars as I haven't quite got the hang of it. I think it would work better on long hair, mine is short. I have used it once, but I definitely need practice. I also have to admit I haven't watched the training dvd yet.

The DVD is sub-par, video quality is poor to fair. The same few clips on the dvid can be found Youtube. You can find better videos done buy users on youtube. The scissors seem fine. I'm not a hairstylist and these are my first pair of hair cutting scissors. They did the job. The clips worked in that they were secured in the hair. I did find it awkward and bit hard to view the air bubble to obtain an even cut. When doing this be sure you are sitting up straight otherwise all bets are off. I put 3 layers in my long hair. The long layer was the easiest layer to do. The shortest the hardest because it get's hard to focus on that bubble. For me I should have stopped at the 2nd layer as my 3rd layer didn't come out to great. Then I added a layered bang which was a complete disaster so I modified it to a bang. The bang came out great. Overall my hair looks like I got a hack job. Perhaps, I'll do better going forward. I'm disabled and can't get out for a haircut so I happy with this over not getting a cut at all. My splits are definitely gone and I think with a curling iron I'll be able to make it look like I had gotten a decent enough hair cut when that really isn't the case. Also, I have naturally curly hair (I straightened with a flat iron before I cut it) and I think my curls will look much better with my new layers. If you want to give this a try, save the money on getting it minus the DVD.

This product is amazing. My daughter has straight bangs and dye my hair often so hair cuts and hair Cate is essential. Going to the salon to cit my daughters bangs spending 5 dollars at a time ads up so when I discovered this I was eager to try it and let me tell you I am so happy I found it. I can cut my daughters bangs in less than 5 minutes it leaves them perfect and I cut my own hair bit by bit and I love it. I don't understand the bad reviews this is so easy to use and so effective just follow the directions. What I do when I cut my hair is I flip my hair over and put the clip in and secure it and then cut when I flip it back I have layers.. Its that easy I love it

I give it 2 stars because it actually does cut a straight line but if you have thick hair it looks terrible with layers. Not worth the money. You could use fingers to do this.

I could no longer handle my COVID hair, so I broke down and bought this (after viewing many of the tutorials on You Tube). I walked around it for over a week, reading the directions and watching more videos, and then one morning, I was so grossed out by my scraggly locks, that I just dove in and used it! It was a bit tricky for the back of my hair, but truly, I felt like a different person after the cut. I still had to look at my gray-black roots, but at least I was not shaggy. I will use it again and again. I think that, soon, I will get the hang of cutting the hair at the back of my head.
