Like a lot of folks, I have been dealing with various skin disorders for most of my life. It was difficult to find a soap that didn't actually make those skin disorders worse because of their added dyes, fragrances, and ingredients. This was recommended to me by my dermatologist about 5 years ago. She said this is the soap that dermatologists came up with for folks that basically "have a reaction to just about everything". I no longer have the dryness and itch from the other soaps that just stripped any moisture from my skin. Nor does my skin have that greasy/oily residue that many "moisturizing" soaps leave behind. My skin just feels for lack of better word "neutral". Clean but not dried out or greasy. Another feature I like is that it is almost scent free. I don't leave the shower smelling like I have been dowsed with perfume. This is very important to me because scents can cause me headaches or even nausea.

Highly sensitive celiac. I use the entire Vanicream product line. The bar soap is very creamy, and doesn't dry out my skin. And I like that I can trust the product. Highly recommend.

Pros: It feels nice on the skin and is very gentle. It lathers well with an exfoliating net, loofah, and washcloth. My body and face have calmed since I started using this brand, and I like that there is no scent, yet you still smell clean. I have recommended this to friends with sensitive skin and allergies that cause flares, and it is very effective in clearing up those blemishes and bumps. Cons: I wish the 12-pack were available in stores. The price is also inconvenient, but nothing else works like VaniCream for me, so I compromise.

After a lifetime of dealing with rashes and breakouts -- and not always in the most ideal places -- I finally had my dermatologist culture a rash. It turns out I didn't have psoriasis or jock itch; I have "contact dermatitis," brought on by fragrances and additives found in almost all skincare and household products. I was told to immediately change everything I used to clean or scent myself, with this product line cited as the place to start. I now use the shampoo, the conditioner, the antiperspirant, the moisturizing cream, the lotion, the liquid cleanser, and this creamy, gentle cleansing bar -- anything and everything they offer. These products have changed my life, and leave me feeling no less clean and presentable. I used to get rashes in sensitive areas of thin skin that actually tore me open; now I'm rash-free. My only "cheats" are one-off uses of cologne or deodorants when my confidence is absolutely at stake and I need to smell like something other than nothing. My body forgives me in those one-and-done moments, and doesn't rash up. For those with skin ailments, eliminating fragrances and additives may be a wonderful pathway out. I was suffering from yet another round of contact dermatitis that required several rounds of steroids to clear up. I seem to be allergic to everything now! My dermatologist told me to use the Vanicream bar. This stuff is amazing! It does not cause itching, dryness, or red bumps on my skin. I even use it to wash my hair (I have a really short pixie), and it is allowing the dermatitis on my scalp (from the shampoo the salon used) to heal up. There is no residue when rinsed; it leaves everything clean and soft. After spending thousands on everything from unscented castile soap to super expensive "for sensitive skin" products, this has become my holy grail!

Fine overall. It works well enough and I do not have major complaints.

The current Coronavirus advice, of washing your hands frequently with soap and water, meant I had to search for a cleansing bar that didn’t exacerbate my hand eczema. Vanicream Gives me exactly what I’ve been searching for, it has the approval of Eczema Uk, and doesn’t affect my hand eczema. I am delighted with it.
