I found an old Dell Inspiron 1520 notebook PC in my Dad’s basement, I believe it’s at least 18 years old. She’s a big ol’ girl with a weak heart. I decided just for fun to try installing Linux Mint. Just to see if I could. However I seem to have found one of the few PC’s that ran worse under Linux. 😂🤦🏽‍♂️ It only came with 1.5 GB of RAM; 512 MB onboard and a single 1GB DDR2 stick. I recalled reading that Linux wants at least 2 GB. So I looked on The ‘Zon and found these. Cheap and next-day delivery. 👍🏽 I only used one of the two sticks sent as the Dell only has one SIMM slot. It fit and clicked in perfectly. Looking in the BIOS screen and also in System Information confirmed it was recognized, now showing a total of 2.5 GB. I’ve only run the XFCE from the bootable USB but it definitely runs much better. I was at least able to open a browser and SI where it would lag badly or even lock up previously. UPDATE: I watched another YouTube video and found where the 2nd SIMM lives; a little harder to get to but I managed it with almost no difficulty or damage. I installed the 2nd 2 GB SIMM in its place and now have 4 GB of RAM, the maximum that can be addressed by the processor.

The laptop ram worked well/as expected. Would buy from this brand again.

I picked up a nice looking Toshiba laptop a a local thrift store (untested, of course). It had no battery or charger. I had a charger that would work with it so I powered it up and found it only had 2gb of ram. It would hold a max of 4 gb so I ordered this to fill it up. It's running Win 7 and after getting a new battery and a dedicated charger, it's working great! I have three older laptops that all still run fine. Two run a linux OS and this one, WIn 7. It's good to be able to keep them alive and useful.

Fantastic upgrade for my old Lenovo T61 Laptop.

Worked as advertised. I needed some more memory on a very old machine I was using to test a Linux install. I found no problems at all with the memory but I haven't been using it long either.

Sin duda de las mejores opciones que puedes encontrar para una laptop muy vieja. Mi laptop se volvió rápida y puedo hacer tareas no tan exigentes sin problemas. Hablo de tareas no tan exigentes, porque al ser una laptop viejita obviamente ya no rinde como una nueva. Pero me sirve para usar el navegador, ver videos, usar Word o programas similares, incluso para grabar música con mi guitarra. Etc.

This discarded laptop was hardware limited to 4 Gb ram only. With 2 GB installed, it wont run Win 10. 4 GB allows it to run Win 10 well enough to be used by someone who needed one for minimal cost.
