I have had an Addi for almost two years, so this was purchased to be used until I could repair my Addi King Express. So,....in comparing the to the Addi,my opinion is that there is a difference in quality, as this isn't as high of quality as my Addi. BUT, this Miaoke works just fine! Both machines require some getting used to. It's a matter of finding the correct speed and tension for each type of yarn used. With both machines the faster you spin, the more likely the chances are for dropped or jammed stitches, and yarn split. Rougher yarns dont work as well as softer yarns. In my opinion, this Miaoke is a great value for a knitting machine. I feel this a great choice for a beginner. UPDATE: I have used this Miaoke more over the past couple of months and have to say, "I am VERY PLEASED with it !! " I suggest you used it on either of the two tighter tensions, as those tensions have resulted 100% perfect items. No dropped or jammed stitches, even with using the drill attachment. (I don't try to drill on full power, I use a nice medium to slow speed., same as I use with my Addi. Even the Addi has problems on high speed.) Just give yourself some time to figure out the tension for each style of yarn. I WILL ABSOLUTELY BUY THIS AGAIN, IF THE NEED ARRISES.

Yeah, I was skeptical too, but after I got it, all my doubt left me. I will say, like all knitting machines, not every yarn will work with every machine, so if you're partial to a particular yarn, I'd ask someone to test it for you before committing to this machine. The stitches are smooth and even. The ONE TIME I had a boo-boo on a stitch was my fault for messing with it. I used 'I Love This Yarn', which is my go to basic yarn, and the results were perfect. I then tried it with old fashioned Red Heart and the results were terrible. This machine prefers a smoother yarn. The Red Heart was just too coarse to slide through the tensioner. If you are used to the Addi, you can still hand tension the yarn, but as I am new to this machine, I used the provided tension wand, and got great results. The suction cups are not great, but I just clamped the legs to the table and it never moved. The written instructions are lackluster, but I just followed one of a thousand YouTube videos on how to use this machine (it operates just like the Addi) that the written instructions didn't matter. If you're on the fence about a knitting machine, this one is at a good price (compared to the Addi), and you get the same quality.

I liked the product. Worked well for what I needed at the time. The only complaint is that it drops stitches if you use to heavey or light of yarn and the machines plastic frame cracked around the screws. Now it is out of kilter and is dropping stitches and knotting the yarn.

Pretty design, problem was it would slip and rip the thread. Easy to assemble but not really worth it. No matter if you’re trying to do it fast or slow

I bought this device because I wanted to increase my production, and the Addi - which by all accounts is a far superior machine - was out of stock everywhere, and on back order at the one place I was able to find. Once I figured out how to use the machine, it worked well, at first. The suction cups adhered easily to the stone countertop where I was using it, but the frame would contort and rock like a ship in a storm when I was turning the handle. And I was turning manually, not with an electric screwdriver or drill. In spite of the noise and the lack of a steady platform, it did produce decent hats once I got the hang of it. I was using Red Heart Super Saver medium (4). Then I changed yarn to the Caron One Pound medium (4), and it started dropping stitches like crazy. I tried changing the tension, slowing down, speeding up, manually managing the tension, adjusting the angle of the yarn in the tensioner, you name it. The only way I could make a full row without dropping stitches was to manually push the yarn to the bottom of its peg as it came around to the yarn guide and started coming up for the next stitch. And if I have to that, why am I using a knitting machine? So I went back to the Red Heart Super Saver medium (4) and tried again. This time, in spite of doing it the exact same way that worked before, I got the same results as with with Caron - dropped stitches all over the place, with no rhyme or reason as to where they would appear. Continuing to knit only moved the dropped stitches to a different area on the row. I can only conclude that I’ve reached the end of this product’s useful life...and I received it January 7th. Of course the return period expired on February 6th, 12 days before it stopped working effectively. A useful life of 6 weeks before wear and tear makes the product unusable is not a good value for a product that costs $90.99. I don’t know if the actual brand name device (Sentro) is of better quality than the Miaoke, but I can say that this specific device is not worth the money, unless you’re keen to spend $90 every 6 weeks to be able to knit on a machine. Now I’m just waiting on my Addi, hoping it’s more in line with what I expect.

It’s important to know that this machine is finicky. You’re gonna spend time getting to know it AND learning how to use it. It doesn’t like ALL yarns. Some yarns it doesn’t work at all, others it’ll work if you don’t use the tension guide. It works well with anything sport weight, or soft and shiny like I Love This Yarn or Simply Soft. But if you shop cheaply for yarn like I did it’s not gonna be as good of a stash buster as you might hope. The flip side is this is amazing and I’m glad I bought one. I’ve made hats that fit heads from my toddlers to mine. I’ve made a giant pumpkin, snowmen, you name it. It’s satisfying to get things done quickly. Pooling yarns also look and act fantastic usually. I’d recommend it if you’re willing to spend some time frustrated. If you aren’t willing to be frustrated you shouldn’t buy it.

Fun to use, is good quality to me, only time it messes up is if you mess up, once you learn to use it, it functions flawlessly. Good value to me if you like making stuff

Product worked okay for the first few inches of knitting, then it seemed there was an issue with the stitch counter that was throwing off the operation. It missed a few stitches, even at slow speed, then was hard to crank like a gear was messed up internally or something. We decided to send it back.

I have a little experience with flat bed knitting machines, and thought having a budget friendly round machine would be nice for seamless hat making. I got mine today and tried it out... I had several dropped stitches at different points in the knitting and found it very difficult to latch up the stitches again once they dropped. This is a task that is very simple on my flat bed machine. I also did not like the tiny handle. Cranking that little handle around and around is a recipe for a trip to the chiropractor. I would much rather hand seam up a hat I made on the flat bed machine than deal with all of that. Not fun. Also, the suction cups were definitely inadequate for holding down the machine. And for the price point I can't complain too much about the plastic needles, but I discovered that it's just not my cup of tea. For those who are curious, do some research and look for a second hand Singer/Silver Reed LK 100, LK140, or Bond knitting machine. Both are good starter flat bed machines that can be pretty affordable if you can find them. I ended up deciding to return this machine.

Learning curve buy yarn don't mixed the ones included are different and you will have problems. But fun. Machine sticks and Jams! Asked vendor to fix or replace it and all I got watch this video watch that video,none were helpful at all. When I said that they stopped all messages! It's fun but the grandkids have to run it smoothly no stopping or jurking and it will work. After one year it doesn't work! I complained to the company but all they said was whach the videos.
