AFOQT Study Guide: AFOQT Prep and Study Book for the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test
L**F
Take the time to work through this study guide before taking the AFOQT test.
The Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT) test is given to measure verbal and math aptitude, and is similar to the Standardized Admissions Test (SAT) and the American College Testing (ACT). However, this test also includes additional assessments for aptitudes relevant to officer commissioning programs. The test is often used to qualify applicants for pilot, combat systems officer (CSO), and air battle manager (ABM) training, and is a component of the Pilot Candidate Selection Method score. The AFOQT Study Guide 2017-2019 by Moon Point Test Prep is packed with relevant lessons and study questions. The book is divided into individual sections, and includes the time limits for the various subtests of the AFOQT. The text is well-spaced and easy to read. I particularly appreciated the illustrations that accompany the more complex lessons and several of the questions. In the answer key, there are detailed explanations following the correct answers in the Arithmetic Reasoning, the Mathematics Knowledge, the Word Knowledge, and the Reading Comprehension sections. I used this student guide to tutor a young man preparing for the AFOQT test, and the explanations were quite helpful for both of us.If you know someone who will be taking the AFOQT test in the near future, I would certainly recommend that this person takes the time to work through this study guide first. It will greatly increase his/her probability of passing with a high score.

Great study guide
The AFOQT Study Guide 2018-2019 is a beneficial aid for students studying for the Air Force Officer qualifying test. The study guide is broken down into individual subtests Instrument Comprehension, Verbal Analogics, Table Reading, Aviation Information, Block Counting, Self-Description Inventory, Situational Judgement, Arithmetic Reading, Mathematics Knowledge, Word Knowledge, Reading Comprehension, and Physical Science. All of these areas correspond with the questions that you will be tested on. If you get stuck on any of the questions, useful lists of answers are provided in the back of the book to help you. The real tests are significantly harder than the questions provided in this study guide. However this guide provides you with a great list of practice test questions, which will help you, pass the real test. This guide is recommended for someone who will be sitting the real test soon.

DO NOT sit for exam without reviewing these techniques!!
What makes this a good choice is that it isn't a study guide in the traditional "learn the test material" sense; it breaks down the methodology that is used to create the questions. It's especially helpful if you're not the "test-taking" type, because it will show you how to come to the correct answers in any section by helping you understand what the AF brass are looking for in an officer. This is not the same thing as studying lists of vocabulary words to pick the correct analogy on the SAT; this guide is unique because you're taught how to think like the test creator - it's not a "hack the test" guide, but it will show you a different way to interpret the question so that you won't get tripped up. It's hard to explain unless you have the book in front of you, but overall it's just a much better way to prep than the other available guides. Don't skip this one, even if you've done okay on practice tests already.I had to come back to add - this will work best if you ALSO get a companion guide that has the air force specific prep.

So much helpful information
I really liked how the beginning was broken up into the different sections of the afoqt and stuff you need to know to do well on that section. They have strategies and formulas that you will use on the test. What I didnt like were the numerous mistakes they made on the practice test. For example #46 "what do you call an atom with different number of protons and neutrons? "Well there really isn't an answer. The answer key in the back is explaining" an atom with a different number of protons and electrons is called ionized."Well, gee, if you had actually proofread you test, I had a good chance of getting it right. There are more problems with this book, so I dont see any value in getting the "new version " when the old version can't be much worse and be cheaper.

Very happy with this!
I brought this for my brother and he loves it. The study guide is concise, to the point and gives thorough information on what you need to know prior to taking the exam. The practice test is also helpful from what I was told. I was really worried about purchasing this for my brother as I wasn't very much aware of what would've been the best but as he is a visually orientated person, I decided to get this study guide in particular due to it's claim of having helpful graphics which it seems to deliver on. I'm happy that it seems to have really helped him to understand the exam better. I'm sure that he will meet his goals because of the work he has put in with the help of this guide. I would highly recommend this for anyone needing to study for the AFOQT.
