Great Poles
I had emergency spinal surgery and have nerve damage which effected my balance and core strength. Off the walker and purchased these poles instead of using a cane to assist with walking and balance. No pain on wrists or hands, stand up straight while walking with confidence and no hunching over with back pain and best of all they are sturdy. I also purchased flat pole tips from the same company to use on tile floors. Best purchase and good quality

Impressive poles.
It is important to know that there are poles out there that fold up smaller. But I think these get small enough that they can be held comfortably on your backpack if you have the fancy kind that hold poles. If you want them to fit in your pack, you may need another style, although be warned that the other type I know about fold up in multiple pieces and are bulkier in their own way. These are three-piece telescoping. The top two sections are held in place with a tensioning lever, much like most bike seats and wheels are held in place. The bottom two sections are held by turning the bottom section so that it pushes up and out a plastic (yes, plastic) interior piece to create friction. Surprisingly, once very tight, you then turn the same section back and forth slightly to turn on or off the "shock absorber".While I might be skeptical if I only heard about how this works (with the plastic component, and the fact that the shock absorber "switch" is within the same motion as the tightening mechanism), when I examine this item closely, I just can't see anything but great quality. I also cannot break the hold the tightening mechanisms have unless I put unnatural weight on the poles (i.e., more than a normal lean). Also, the two types of cups they give you for the bottom of the poles screw on, which is also nice. Seems like everything is very well thought out and also well executed. And they are super light (so plastic inside is very justified as long as it continues to work, and I guess it will).Maybe not the preferred style for everyone due to the folded up length, but this style definitely has its advantages. Give these a serious look if you are in the market for this style.

Heavier than listed.
Package indicates the correct weight, each pole is ~290g.I really liked the adjustment mechanism and wished these were maybe 100g lighter, especially at the ends.I wasn't a fan of the way these felt; they ended up weighing more than was listed online (even stripped down), and the weight distribution seemed "bottom heavy" making these seem even heavier. These weren't terrible poles but the weight difference was functionally noticeable when I had some 150g poles to compare them against, so I went with those.

Extremely light, easy to use, highly recommended!
For those who need assistance in hiking rough terrain, a trekking pole/waking stick is definitely worth bringing along. May it be for stability or to provide rhythm to your walking pace. But they really do help in taking pressure of your back and joints (especially if you have a heavy backpack), especially going uphill and also downhill. Especially if you had knee or ankle or lower back issues in the past, it's always good to be practice personal safety. The YUKON CARBON LITE Trekking Poles are perfect:- Soft touch extended EVA Grips- Padded Wrist Strap- Carbon fiber trekking poles that are extremely lightweight- Twist-lock Anti-Shock Feature- You have a two choices of pavement tip covers, you have a Mud/Sand Trekking Basket - Prevents tip from sinking too far in the mud or sand and a rubber grip for roadways or concrete paths and a Snow Trekking BasketThe walking stick can adjust to 65cm (2.1 feet) -135cm (4.4 feet) and weights only a pound. I tend to have only used aluminum trekking poles but the carbon shaft is extremely light and really can hold my weight! These poles does utilize springs which act like shock absorbers. The different tips and trekking baskets included are a plus. It's very simple to extend using the TLAS - Twist Lock Anti-Shock. Top portion is unsnap/snap portion similar to what you see on camera tripods, but the bottom portion is extended by unloosening or tightening the bottom portion (near the pavement tip covers) and is easy to lock it in place.Overall, the YUKON CARBON LITE Trekking Poles are great for Nordic Walking, exerstriding and hiking!Extremely light, easy to use and is highly recommended!
