Great for my well pump
This works awesome for my low yield well. I set it to come on for a minute every 5 hours. It pumps the water into a 200 gallon holding tank. When the tank fills up the float valves closes off, and then the water fills a small pressure tank, when that fills the pressure switch switches the pump off. So then the pump will not come on anymore even if this unit comes on until the pressure is released after I use a bunch of water. From the holding tank I have a jet pump that is connected to another pressure tank and switch and that goes to the house. The first pressure tank before the holding tank must be set low around 25 PSI though, that allows water to flow in sooner so the pump doesn't build pressure too fast and click on and off like a hundred times a second. It needs decent buffer zone from the 40/60 pressure switch. This works way better than the typical designs how they normally do this. I'm very happy with it and the whole thing is working fantastic. And my pump will never burn out, even if something else goes wrong, at worst the pump only runs for a minute at a time. I actually blew out a PVC connection and water leaked all over, but no problem as my pump didn't drain the well or burn out. This unit only allowed it to run for a minute at a time. Before I got this unit I burned out a pump before, I said there has got to a be a better way, and I didn't like the way they usually do it with control pumps. Those have their own issues I don't want to get into here. This thing is awesome and works fantastic the way I have it set up now. And I can adjust the timings any way I like. Also I love that you can switch it on to bypass the timer if you want to check things or run it right there and then. It also has a nice toggle switch to turn it off so you don't have to switch off the breaker if you need to turn it off. I wish the battery was replaceable though. Usually those last 10 years or so. I guess in 10 years I'll have to buy a new unit? Still worth it though.

Saves a TON of money one electric bill!
I installed this 18-months ago in my home, to control the water heater. I placed both sets of contacts in PARALLEL to ensure it would handle the current. That house was in Yuma AZ, so most of the year the "cold water" coming into the house is already hot! So we only needed the hot water heater in the "winter months" when it got "chilly" (70's/80's days, 40's/50's at night). In those circumstances we had the timer apply power 1.5 hours in the AM and then again 1.5 hours in the PM - like that we had hot water any time of day or night but instead of paying for electric power 24hrs a day, we only paid for 3-hours a day. YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE FIRST ELECTRIC BILL!! I moved and sold the house after 18-months, the timer still working and looking like new. Bought another timer for my new house - have not installed it yet because where we live now is REAL winter with teens, twenties, thirties, snow, icy windshield in the morning et all. So I'm in no hurry to install the timer, I'll wait until closer to summer when I can actually use the timer again. It has a VERY GOOD FEATURE: a manual 3-way switch with positions labelled "ON" "OFF" and "TIMER". So for example, it's just me and the wife, we are retired. One weekend family comes to visit and both spare bedrooms plus the RV are full of visitors, and LOTS of showers shall be required: You DON"T HAVE TO RE-PROGRAM the timer to run more hours - just switch it to "ON" full-time until the visitors leave, then switch it back to timer. Similarly say you go on vacation for a month, just set the switch to "OFF" until you come back home - you don't have to go find the circuit breaker in the main electric panel to turn it off. Yup, this thing is great. REAL, sturdy METAL box it comes in. Just "hop off the fence" and get one.

Good build and great features for the price!
I bought this unit to replace my old mechanical timer. Very versatile timing features, all you would ever need. Indicator lights are nice when electrical loads are applied. Box has a nice gasket going around the edge so it really is waterproof. When viewing the timer/digital clock, you need to look at it straight on. If you view it from a downward angle, it erroneously looks like there are all "8's" on the screen. A backlit screen would have been nice for easier viewing. Lastly the universal voltage is nice. The unit runs on 120 or 240 input voltage, and can operate a number or various voltage items. There is a sentence in the paper instructions that might lead you to believe the unit requires only 120v input, but the wiring diagram provided as well as a perfect youtube instructional video from Jasco make wiring and installation a breeze, even if you've never done electrical before. Lastly, the wire terminal retainers could be better. Ensure you unscrew the terminals (to retract the slider-retaining clips), and look up from the bottom of the unit to ensure your wire ends actually went inside the slider-retaining clip. Overall, very satisfied with the unit.

Very good, but two quirks to note
Replaced a 30-year-old mechanical timer with this baby and I'm generally happy with the installation. It is indeed easy to install, having two separate relays is great (though I didn't need two in this case), and the thing can be programmed intuitively with only a minimal read of the instructions. The unit keeps track of time across power outages too. So all good. Almost. Quirk #1: If you use the switch to turn the unit off, then back to timer, it remains off even if the time is in the middle of an "on" cycle. Not a big deal, you can just hit the override momentarily to get it into the correct state. Or just wait for it to cycle normally if the timing is not that important. Quirk #2: This is a bit more serious. The wiring instructions basically tell you to double-up the wires when jumpering over to the relays. But the jumpers that are included are really thick, low gauge... literally 6 or 8 gauge, which won't match the house wiring. The suggestion in the video is to twist the wires together before inserting into the terminal block but really... this is a bad idea not only in the case where the gauge is mismatched but also in the case where it isn't. The terminal blocks are really designed for just one wire, I don't trust the contact area with a twisted pair (etc) going into it and the screw-down isn't strong enough to deform the copper to improve the contact area. So I just used WAGOs instead, as shown in the picture (this is a 15A circuit so I used 20A WAGOs). I docked one star for the poor wiring instructions and weird operation when using the switch. Otherwise though the unit is great! -Matt

Terrible
This turned out to be a terrible purchase. 1. The timer installation was straighforward but it required that a jumper wire (supplied) be installed. This jumper had to be connected to an existing house wire by joining them in a connector block. This block was poorly designed and because the supplied jumper was a different diameter (too thick) a good connection could not be made. I had to make a new jumper with wire that was the same diameter as my house wire. 2. Once installed, the setup was logical but was hindered by the terrible readability of the screen. It has no backlight and the reflections and glare made it really hard to read. I had to twist my head around as I put in the numbers. This let to mistakes that put conflicting times and caused the program not to run. My setup required Mon-Wed-Fri with 3 separate on-off times. It took me 4 attempts to get this program set. 3. After I finally got the program set up, the timer started out correctly but when it reached the end of the cycle time on the first cycle, it wouldn't shut off. I had to shut it off manually. When I turned it back on it wouldn't go back to the timer mode. I went through this several times with the same results before I concluded that it just wouldn't work. I am back to manual control and all I am left with is two days of work and 3 holes in my wall.

Easy to install and program
Our Power provider, Duke Energy, encourages us to consume electricity during Low Rate times. This timer allows us to turn our home water heater on during the periods of lowest cost power. With water heating being the largest consumer of electricity, this saves us the most $$$. I skipped much of the installation instructions. Hitting RESET would have saved me time, however. And while programming the Timer On Off times, hitting the CLOCK button would allow me to escape from programming more On / Off than I needed. The heavy 8 guage wires can be a challenge in a tight space. I removed the device from the housing for easy access to connect wires. I'm not sure this was a good choice. This unit is exceptionally easy to program. It is flexible for use in 120V, 240V and multiple load configurations. Happy with our choice to replace the failed Intermatic EH40. This unit also avoids the unnecessary complexity of Wifi and Phone Apps for our simple implementation.. The integrated NIMH battery means I have no need to replace the batteries as in others. It is rechargeable and will last longer than I will. Based on the failure rate of the Intermatic, I did spend $13 for a 4 year warranty.

Efficient and Reliable Timer Switch!
This E Heavy-Duty 7-Day Digital Box Timer Switch has been a game-changer for my daily routines. Its user-friendly interface and customizable 7-day programming make it a versatile solution for various appliances. We are currently using it to control the amount of times my water heater goes off. The heavy-duty build instills confidence in durability, and the clear digital display ensures easy monitoring. Set it and forget it, as the timer automates tasks effortlessly. I installed it 4 months ago and haven't had to touch it again since. Update: Only one really bad CON I can point out.... Power outages resets your timers.... So be on the lookout, not a deal breaker by any means if you don't lose power often, but still annoying to say the least.
