My setup is this. I have a very powerful video card that I use for image generation. I use this so I can run both of my large monitors off of my motherboard and cpu. It does a fine job, but during startup, my screens go to sleep sometimes when it's inconvenient. My eye protection software that takes the blue light and reduces it at night does not work with it. It will go in with my laptop case, for I am installing a new power brick in my computer.So I can run two video cards. This was only a temporary fix between paychecks. It does its job, but it is not totally what I need. I know there's arguments for the contrary, but they could make the cord on the thing a little bit longer. It is an adapter not a dongle. It seems pretty durable and like it would last a while. So I do not see myself in a situation where I would have to buy a new one for a while. It is made well from seemingly durable plastic material, and it is a small device. It plugs into my Thunderbolt port and gives me 2 HDMI outs for two separate 4K monitors. It gives me the same problems whether I'm using windows Linux or my wife's Mac, operating system has nothing to do with the problem areas. And if I had my laptop on a table and needed to do a presentation where I had to plug into a larger screen via an HDMI cable, this would suit me fine. It is not a long term solution for my large home computer.

Going strong 3 years later! Not compatible with Macs as a second display. That however is an Apple thing not playing nice w/ the rest of the world- I don't believe any non Apple native splitter will work with MacOS as a second display. With Windows OS, works straight forward. For Macs..there is a easy work around if you want this work as extended display (2 displays left and right): To do this you simply plug in one of your HDMI cables to this adapter, then plug this adapter to the USB C port on the Mac. Then plug in your second HDMI cable directly to the Mac. After that you'll just have to toggle your display settings as you would with any dual monitor setup.

My actual Lenovo Dockstation finally died. If you've had one of those, you already know the situation: you can only use 2 external monitors. When I saw this docking station for less than $100, I thought the worst that could happen was that it wouldn't work, and I'd return it and invest in another Lenovo docking station. When I came across this docking station for less than $100, I thought, "The worst that can happen is that it doesn't work, and I'll just return it and invest in another Lenovo docking station." Pros: - Easy to set up - Display screen on dock actually provides you with decent stats on your connected hardware Cons: - I attempted to use a DisplayPort-to-HDMI uni-directional cable, and it did not work. The station will not recognize it. HDMI to HDMI or DisplayPort to DisplayPort was the only way the dock recognized the monitors. General Notes: - The back of the station will be weighed down with all your cables. Even with the suction bottom (which is a nice feature btw), it may trigger people's OCD when it comes to cable management. I read that you shouldn't kink up your wires, and everything will work smoothly. I hope that's the case, because the wires back there are really irking me. - I'm running it only on a 60w charger, but may upgrade to a 100w to see the difference. Only had it for a day, so I will report back on a 3 month review unless things get weird before then.

Hi, I am Updating the review once again. After leaving the last update, I was contacted by the seller, and they offered a full refund, which I was surprised yet pleased about. I can't give the product 5 stars since it did stop working after all, but the company made it right. Again, out of the box, it was great and did everything I hoped and as advertised. When it stopped, the seller made it right. All in all, I'm pleased with the result. In the meantime, I purchased a different version from another seller that I returned after 2 days because it kept "blinking" in and out. I guess maybe I'll give this one another try and hope it was just the luck of the draw on the one I received last time. If I do, I will once again update my experience here. With so many "interesting" reviews I thought I would share my experience. I order the product on 10/2/23 and it arrived the next morning. Based on some of the reviews, I thought it required downloading software and taking time to play with the adjustments, etc. For me, I pluged it into my old Razer laptop, still running Windows 10, and it worked. No software, no adjustments, nothing to do. The picture seems fine, but I hooked it to an older 1080p TV as my third display. I obviously can't speak to durability, or it dies after two weeks, but I have no reason to believe there will be an issue. It is the same quality level as other USB C connectors I have, which have lasted over a year at this point. If I run into performance issues in the future, I will update this review. UPDATE: I ran into performance issues. It was great for almost three months, then it just stopped working. I was using my laptop with two monitors as usual, and suddenly, the third monitor just went black. I checked all connections and they were secure, I switch HDMI cables and the third monitor worked but the 2nd did not. So it wasn't the cable or the monitor, it is definitely this adapter. It's a shame because it was great when it worked. I plan on buying something similar and will have better luck. These are too expensive to be considered throwaway like some other electronics these days. Great when it worked.

I have purchased 2 of these, the first one quit working after about an hour of operation. I thought maybe it was a "BAD" one? It looks good, it has the functions that I was looking for and it was priced right. I will give them another shot. Well, not a one-off problem. The second one quit working after 30 minutes and was very hot to the touch, Soo hot that I took it outside. I sent it back and bought a Dell with a better reputation. I've used the Dell for a week and am happy with that purchase.

UPDATED 24-Jul-2026: Updating this to mention that Selore has responded to my security concerns, and has been working with me these past few weeks, and has released a number of firmware updates that fully address the security. One firmware adds customizable password and the ability to hide the SSID, and the other (which I recommended) fully disables the internal SSID. I can't remember the last time I've seen a company so responsive and willing to help a customer with their concerns! I'm beyond impressed by their customer service, and now I will gladly recommend their products, because even if you find a problem, reach out to them, they will help. ------- Original review below I really wanted to like this dock, the compact form factor and LCD make it well-suited for my small desk. However as the title suggests, there is a major security oversight that prevents me from using this dock: the WiFi. Out of the Box, this dock broadcasts an open SSID (no password) which I thought was for initial setup. It allows you to configure the dock, and upload firmware. However, even after I configured the dock and connected it to my own WiFi, it never stopped broadcasting it's default open WiFi. This means that anyone within range (which is quite wide) can easily connect and reconfigure the device, including upload custom firmware, no password required! This, in my opinion, makes this dock a security risk, and unfortunately, I cannot use it unless this is addressed.

I own two Dell laptops. The first one connects relatively easily, but there are instances when it disconnects if I accidentally nudge the wires. On the other hand, connecting to the second laptop is a hassle. There were times when it wouldn’t even establish a connection. In summary, it performs okay with one of my laptops, but not with the other.

Works very well with my surface book 2 to extend to addition 2 screens! It's super value for money compare those expensive docks. Flickering: Very stable, no flickering most of the time, except when I'm playing video from Netflix in the extended screen, but it's really acceptable. Media playing (hdcp) :Also to note that it is HDCP compliant so you can play Netflix etc over the extended screen. Heating: very acceptable heating from the adapter, perhaps just around 30 to 40 Celsius. Always on: the connection is there 99% of the time even after I suspend my surface book and turn it back on the next day. The connection may break once in a blue moon when I try to turn my suspended machine back, but it probably only happen twice over the last 3 months of using it. Just hope that it will last for at least 1.5 to 2 years.

Worked well as described with a pc with type c but didnt work on old laptop where there is no type c port and usb to type c converters wont work too.
