Great battery with a steep upfront cost but well worth it for sure. I use Optima batteries in my three vehicles (2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport / 2010 Dodge Caliber SXT / 1983 5.0 F-150 4x4. Living in Central Nevada @ 7000 ft we have super cold winters (in 8 yrs 2 times seeing -20 degrees) & barely 110 days above freezing. With that said I have learned how to make these batteries last with near new cranking power at the 2-to-4-& beyond year mark by using a disconnect on the negative battery terminal. The reason is simple if you let an Optima discharge its done. Professional Battery for Cold Cranking Amp Power. My son and I were prepping his car for the winter, I'm a fan of preventive maintenance so checked how old the battery was. This was November 2022 and I purchased the battery in November 2015, that's 7 years. The car has been parked outside for the past 4. We put the new battery in and I did a check on the old one, it showed 12.6v and took a full charge. It probably would have gone a year or 2 more but these things have a way of failing at the worst possible time. It's a good battery, you pay a little more but this is why.

Lasted for almost 9 years! This battery was purchased back in September/2015; & has to be the most impressive battery that I've experienced in my 40+ yrs of driving Multiple vehicles! I began having issues "starting-up" last January, IF I let it sit more than 3 days with-out driving it! It would just turn over 1-2 times & then only click... requiring a jump... Then it would continue to start up fine the rest of the day, & as long as I started it up, & drove it every day, it worked just fine; until I let it sit again for more than 3 days with-out starting/driving it! = Jump! The specialist claim the average battery life is 3-5 years, but isn't unheard of getting 6 years, if you keep your car well maintained & the battery god's favor you! lol But 9 years,..... That's impressive AF! I went with (purchased) the slightly stronger, more expensive yellow top this time around; see if I can get 10 yrs out of this one, lol.... But I hate to toss the old one out; I'll find an alternative use for it... It's a little dirty, but still has a little life left, if doesn't involve starting engines; I'm thinking this Christmas train I'm build as front yard display to drive around my 8' inflatable Tree, lol... Anywho, here's a picture of it! These Optima's, are the "Father of all car Batteries!" I highly recommend getting one! Good luck!

This battery has a 3-year warranty (for residential use), but that warranty is apparently only good for 30 days. If you are thinking that doesn't add up, well, I don't either. Let me explain it to you as it was explained to me by the manufacturer, and by Amazon customer service. Let me start by stating that I was a long-time Optima battery proponent. I have owned a lot of vehicles and Optima has been my go-to battery brand for about 25 years. I have probably bought a dozen of them over the years, and have had as many friends buy them as replacements for their vehicles on my recommendation. A recommendation I will no longer make. I heard from others in the automotive community that Optima is not the company that they once were and that their batteries are no longer made as well nor lasting as long. In hindsight it seems that is actually accurate. I purchased the battery a year ago (it lasted literally a few days longer than a year before it suddenly failed). I looked up my order on Amazon, clicked the "Get Product Support" button on the order details page which then directed me to contact the manufacturer, so I did. The manufacturer responded stating that "warranties are handled by the original retail location" and advised that Amazon would assist with the warranty as the authorized retailer. I responded back to the manufacturer to let them know that the Amazon site sent me to them. The manufacturer doubled down and stated that they sent a message to Amazon to request that they assist me and that they will do nothing else and that it is up to Amazon to take action. The manufacturer was even "kind" enough to provide a link to Amazon's "About Our Returns Policies" page which states: "If you've purchased a defective automotive item, shipped from and sold by Amazon.com, that is covered by a published manufacturer warranty, Amazon honors the warranty. Amazon will either replace the item or refund the cost of the item for the life of the published warranty." So, I contacted Amazon customer service and detailed the steps that I have taken and what the manufacturer said. The representative then "checked with a supervisor" and came back to advise me that Amazon only accepts return or replacement of items within 30 days of purchase. The representative offered to have me speak with a supervisor since she was unable to assist further. After the original representative transferred me, I spoke with a representative stating to be a supervisor and rehashed everything to that point. The supervisor then regurgitated the same 30-day return policy statement. I then pointed out the return policy published on Amazon's site (that the manufacturer pointed me to) stating that Amazon would refund or replace defective automotive items under warranty for the life of the warranty. The supervisor again regurgitated the 30-day return policy. I ultimately asked point blank if the policy meant that the manufacturer's warranty is only honored by Amazon for 30 days. She confirmed that it was. A bit taken back by her response, I then asked if that meant that any items that have a manufacturer warranty longer than 30 days should be purchased from a brick-and-mortar competitor's retail location instead of from Amazon. Amazingly, she said yes to that as well. Long story short, Amazon is pointing at Optima who is pointing at Amazon who is pointing at Optima, and I am stuck in the middle holding the bill, literally and figuratively. I recommend you save yourself $150-$200 and buy a cheap battery from Walmart. At least you know that they will give you a prorated replacement in store when it fails.

Fantastic battery

Note that the Group 25 battery I purchased had a plastic piece(s) to protect the terminals during shipment. Then this piece can be used beneath the battery to bring the height back up to the equivalent of the FLA Group 25 it replaced. I think Amazon and Optima should let people know about that. I was taken aback when I read the label on the box that, for warranty, I had to return the battery to place I purchased it. Not possible after a month or so with Amazon. The two need to work out a better solution. Hope I don't need warranty replacement, but if I do... This is reason for not 5 stars.

An item easy to install and doesn’t need adjustment

The Real Deal for my old Series 7 BMW. Starts and runs a treat. I don't need the 800 CCA model as the '93 Bimmer has most anciliary stuff like heated seats shut down. Good battery for any 4 litre.

Great battery very good power retention

This battery seems to be working fine but when I received it the battery was delivered upside down and a corner the box was slightly damaged. Thank goodness that didn’t damage the battery at least that I know of yet. The battery is also a couple of centimetres shorter than the original one so I needed to modify the retaining bracket to be able to hold the battery securely.

the battery worked fine for almost two months. Then after sitting for a week has gone completely dead. Supposed to be a 36 month mfg. warranty but amazon makes it imposible to do a return after 30 days.
