iHome Mouse works with MacBook Air with M1 chip
This is not the first iHome mouse I owned. I bought my first iHome mouse 9 years ago. It was to replace the Apple mouse that came with my iMac. I did not like the Apple mouse. The iHome mouse worked great for most of the 9 years. However, during the past year it began cutting in and out. This was ok because I was finally replacing my iMac with a MacBook so I will buy a new mouse for MacBook. I fully expected the new mouse to be as good as the one I bought 9 years ago since they were same name brand. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. When I pulled it out of box, I noticed the white plastic on top of mouse, where the palm of your hand rests on it, was separating from bottom of mouse. I am not talking about where you put the batteries. So I pulled out some gorilla glue to fix it. That solved one problem. I put the batteries in and had no problem pairing with MacBook. I ran into a problem of the mouse dragging on my mousepad. It was not moving smoothly. What I found is the DPI and WiFi buttons on bottom of mouse were sticking out farther than the bottom of the mouse. These two buttons were dragging on my mousepad. So I took out my fingernail clippers and clipped a little off each button to make it flush with the bottom of mouse. Now it moves smoothly. It seems the old version of the iHome mouse was better made than this newer version. For now it is working fine. We will see if this one lasts 9 years.

Update worse design, works poorly on many surfaces...
I had an earlier version of this mouse from a number of years ago that worked great. Eventually one of the mouse buttons became a bit intermittent, which is totally understandable for the amount of life and use I got out of it.Unfortunately the current version is junk compared to the older version despite the same part number. They've switched out the optics package on the bottom. It is a blue LED vs a red LED now, no big deal, but the whole optics design is different. The camera lens is directly molded into the plastic projecting light pipe on the new one. The old one has a separate lens and lightpipe. The project method is different as well. The end result is the new one is very insensitive to side to side motion on surfaces that the older design has no issues with. In fact, it is really poor compared to any of the thousands of optical mice one could buy.If you use a fairly rough work surface this is probably fine. If you use something a bit smoother then don't waste your money on this. I really like the old one, too bad they ruined it through poor redesign.

Nice, attractive, inexpensive mouse - only downside is you can't scroll sideways with the scroll ball
I like this mouse. I bought it because the scroll ball on my Apple mouse could only scroll down, not up (when that happens, you can roll it over paper to clean it and that will fix it for awhile, but eventually mine broke completely). This new mouse is a bit loud when clicking and scrolling, but I actually prefer that to a completely silent mouse. My only slight complaint about this mouse is that the scroll ball only rolls up and down, so you can't scroll sideways in documents or on a webpage. You can tell that from the picture but it didn't occur to me how often I actually did that with my Apple mouse and now I can't do it. It's not the end of the world, just wanted to point that out in case someone else didn't think of it too. Otherwise it seems to work well and is nice enough looking. I've only had it for one day so I can't speak to how durable it is yet.Edit: I found a workaround for the sideways scrolling issue - if you hold down the Shift key while rolling the rollerball, you can scroll sideways! This only works if you're on a page or document that has content off the side of the page. I have a Mac and live in the US so this may work differently on other keyboards.

So happy this was available
Really glad that this product was available on Amazon. I bought 2 so there would be a backup. The new Apple mouse models don't work for me as I'm left-handed and work very quickly. Super quick shipment, too. Will buy 2 or 3 more in January. Relief and gratitude!

Just a little slow to respond
It came quickly and was easy to set up. Once in sleep mode, however, it takes a few seconds to wake up and that can be annoying.

batteries
I finally got the mouse to work. I thought I was going to have to return it. But then decided to try new batteries. And that was the problem. The batteries that came with the mouse did not work. Just passing it on. very hard to control...

amazing - love this mouse
amazing little inexpensive mouse. I was tired of going thru batteries. Other wired mouses did not work well with my apple computer. this one has been absolutely perfect.

Magically Corded Mouse
I bought this mouse because like so many other Apple product users, I was tired of the Magic Mouse that came with my iMac "magically" needing batteries every other month. Also, there seems to be a defect with the Apple product and the batteries tend to become loose, so I had to shove some foil in the battery terminals to get it to work. I was just done with the hassle.Aesthetically this mouse blends in well with my Mac products. It has worked perfectly since I received it. I like that I can plug it in and use it without having to install software. I read reviews complaining that the cord was too long. I didn't mind the length, but I've kept tied up as it originally came so I can plug it into my laptop instead of my desktop, which is often enough. It is solid construction, and has held up even when I put it in my backpack. Though it feels lighter than an Apple Magic Mouse, I don't mind, but some people might think it feels "cheapy" because of that. It also takes a bit of getting used to since it is a lighter weight. Overall, it is a great value and I'll be buying an extra one just for my laptop.

The Battery Installation Instructions Suck!
I bought this as a replacement for an Apple Mouse that was dying. What an adventure trying to get batteries into the wretched thing! Unless you are really comfortable with modern hand-held devices {I'm not}... be forewarned that the installation instructions [text only] in the little instruction pamphlet are very misleading.I spent a long time pressing the release button as told to do... and trying to pry up what appeared to be the hatch to the battery compartment with jeweller's screwdrivers... only to finally figure out that the entire bottom house of the housing comes off so you can insert the AA batteries at one end of the inner workings. The mouse seems to work fine so far... but come-on company rewrite your instructions or put some damn diagrams with the text!

Not good quality and dirty box
Received it quickly but poor quality and not what I expected. When attempted to return the shipping cost will be for the customer which is half the cost of the mouse on top of that on fine print of their terms and condition it says that customer will be charged for shipping if amazon sent it for free so the return will be the cost of the Mulhouse so not able to return. The box was dirty and bottom of mouse did also has dirt too so it looks like been on shelf for long time despite the claim of seller it was sent directly from manufacturers which I won’t believe for 1 sec. So overal won’t recommend this seller and this mouse.

Reliable wired mouse for iMac!
This iHome wired mouse works as intended for my iMac desktop. It doesn't have as many slick features as Apple's Magic Mouse but it is a lot less frustrating! My Magic Mouse would frequently exhibit very sluggish tracking response and the cursor on the screen would sometimes completely disappear. I had enough of it and decided to go back a decade in technology to get an "old-school" wired mouse that works reliably and you don't have to worry about recharging it when you're in the middle of an assignment. I've been using the iHome Wired Mac Mouse for a few weeks now and am very pleased with it so far.

Good replacement for Apple mouse
My Apple mouse continuously eats batteries and is very frustrating in the middle of a project. I bought this as a replacement for it and I’m very happy. I no longer have to stop and change batteries and wait for my wireless mouse to connect.

For a more expensive mouse it doesn't do the job...
This mouse works well sometimes on my MacBook pro, but it constantly disconnects which is quite irritating. I need to continuously restart my computer to regain connection. I know it is not an issue with my computer because it stays connected to my bluetooth mac magic keyboard no problem without any interruption. I would suggest going with a cheaper option or getting the mac mouse for the extra cash to save you the hassle.
