If only I bought if for myself
This book is well layed out and is the definitive source onJacobsen. I bought it as a gift for someone else and really would like to have a copy for myself. I was initially skepticalbecause I could not find any images of it online but once itarrived I was not dissappointed. It includes a good deal of photos and images as well as a goodbackground on Jacobsen himself.

Disappointing
This book is disappointing. The book is divided in to sections, and describes certain products (Ant chair, Cylinda Series, Ox chair, etc) and also describes certain locations (SAS Royal Hotel, aarhus City Hall, St Catherine's College, etc). For each product/location, there is some text together with several photographs. In fact the book (smaller than I had imagined, more a notebook size) has numerous photographs in it. One downside to the book, is that just about all the photographs are in black and white. I don't have a problem with black and white photos, and in fact sometimes they can give you far more detail and insight in to the image than a colour photograph, it just would have been nice to have seen some of the locations/rooms/products in colour. However, where this book seriously falls down is the quality of the photographs. Most are very grainy, to the point that some look like there is camera shake. They appear to be all old photos, and I can't believe that they either couldn't find better quality pictures, take new ones (most of the lights, candleholders, teapots, etc are still in production), or refine the picture quality. I though this would be a lovely 'coffee table' book, to pick up and put down, enjoying the marvel of Arne Jacobsen. Instead, it will be a book that I may refer to, and will instead go on the shelf, next to the other similar sized paperback fiction novels. A far better book on Arne Jacobsen that I have just received is by Christopher Mount. It is called Arne Jacobsen, and is a 'Compact Design Portfolio' book, published by Chronicle Books. It is similar in size, style and content, but the black & white and colour photography is excellent, showing his full spectrum of his work from fabric to doorhandles. If I could return the book by Ediciones Poligrafa, I would.
