Bostik GlideCote 10.75 oz Aerosol Lubricant

Heard about this stuff on "Insider Carpentry" YouTube channel, along with an abrasive pad that Spencer Lewis (the finish carpenter) uses in conjunction with it to clean up and treat machined cast iron equipment surfaces, e.g. table saw, band saw, planer bed, lathe bed, etc. If you're a finish carpenter, or just interested in the craft, get on this guy's channel. I've been a general contractor for over 45 years, a carpenter for most of the time since 1963, done a fair amount of finish work, and this guy is in his 30's - I have learned a LOT from him. I got a house a couple of years ago the needed serious renovation - I completely replaced the interior finish (doors, window trim, base board, etc.) - even as a pretty old guy it was a fun project, largely due to what I picked up from Spencer - he's a good guy. Another product I discovered that I like a lot so far is called "Slipit". It is a non oily lubricant that isn't supposed to collect sawdust and protects from rust. I have several woodworking vices (Yost brand will give you a good picture of what they look like) that have two round shafts that the jaw slides on. They get sticky and tend to rust as well - I cleaned up and treated these with Slipit and am amazed with how smoothly they work now. They are quick release, so you can make large adjustments in how far open they are and used to be very hard to move this way - now they're smooth and easy to adjust.

Makes the tablesaw top slick without alot of buffing. It leaves a good protective surface. Super for all cast saw tops. My dad used this around his shop for years. Also it does not leave an oily surface.

If you're a woodworker you absolutely have to have this stuff! I've been using it for years and it makes such a huge difference. There have been times I have run out so I've used car wax on all the metal surfaces of my tools but there's literally no comparison. This stuff makes the top of your table saw, bandsaw, jointer, planer Etc so smooth the board's literally slide right across them. It's definitely worth it.

It does glide on my table and router saw better. I can feel the change. My router table has laminate, then painted black paint with polyurethane to protect it from scratches and not this glidecote. However, I feel the Poly was doing the same exact thing. Not sure if I would buy this expensive can again! What I don't like is how it leaves a hazy coat which dims my paint job and makes anything look matte and dull, even your table saw. My table has a special coat of manufacture grey paint. Your surfaces will definitely not shine but they will glide better. Be careful not get this stuff on the floor. My floor became very slippery and unsafe. I had to sand my floor down.,

I treated/sealed my table saw, jointer, band saw and planer tops with 4 coats carbon method, which seems to have done a good job but it did not leave them slick enough. So I purchased a can of this and it does a great job, highly recommended.

I needed something easy to apply and wipe off for the equipment surface, where the wood would glide smoothly and not leave any residue on the wood in our woodshop. I have used past wax in the past but need something with less time involved. This product fit the glove to the tee!!! I have been using it ever since. Thanks for such a great product and at a reasonable price.

I used this on my old table saw as a rust prevention initially, but it definitely helps reduce friction during operation. Since then I’ve used it on anything that needs a slicker surface. Leaves no residue that I can detect. I can never live without it again.

Wish the price was better. But it’s magic on my cast tools.

This stuff is worth the money! My table saw, jointer and planer glide better than new. Very easy to apply.
