34"Small Animal Cage

I have a small baby critter who will most likely never hit above 5oz in his adult life, and I don't like the idea of having him in a small hamster cage. My concerns are having a containment that doesn't exceed wire spacing of 1/2" vertical and horizontal. I was initially looking at the Critter Nation, but even with that unit, I will still need to use 1/2" square chicken type wire to line the cage. I also couldn't imagine where in the heck I could provide the space for a 36" wide across and 24-25" deep cage! I prefer having walkways in my home. I also had no need for a cage with doors on each side. I worry about the security and function if one door fails. I love the idea and appearance of a 3 tier cage. Although Widwest provides an easy option of purchasing add ons, a 3 tier Critter Nation would reach up to 88" in height! --I don't have an exclusive room for such arrangement. If I did have a permanent spare room, then maybe getting a pair of the Critter Nations would be an option. I want to be able to keep this cage in the kitchen area and be able to move it around if needed to other rooms. The Yaheetech is roughly half the weight of the other option, very well made and sturdy in design. I am very happy with my choice getting 2 Yaheetech Ferret cages! The shipping was super fast; 2 day FedEx on both. With shipping and tax, each unit was under $140; together only $278.80 and cheaper than one 2 tier Critter Nation. I found the instructions super easy. I just had to refer to the parts page, while following instruction. I used my own 5/32 allen wrench with hex key tip and set up was a breeze. For 3rd tier add-on, I used the 2nd floor setup (using the top piece with upper door and 2 hook loops for ramp hanging) twice. The Yaheetech is fully capable of this setup. The ramps are very easy to attach to the plastic level trays "if" you put your 5/32 allen wrench through the hooks under the tray and gently stretch the plastic...the ramps pop in securely and fairly easily. This made the perfect compromise for "grandma's needs" and "spoiling furry grandchild". His little mansion tower is 3 tiers, but only 74.5" tall, 31" wide and 20.25" deep. It's a very sturdy cage for our needs, and the wheels hold the unit's extra tier and roll very well. I must say it is a very nice looking cage! I love the design, the doors are very well made and work beautifully...it's going to be so much fun decorating inside with more things to spoil our little guy. For the bottom floors, we are using cardboard and rug style mats, so his little feet won't need to deal with wire bottoms. --Something I prefer over plastic liners anyway...we don't want him chewing any plastic. I found no flaws, no rust and no issues with these units. I also have the choice of creating a single rolling unit with bottom shelf (to gift/donate or use for another room or family home) or keep for spare parts. I highly recommend Yaheetech 2-story ferret cage and the option for getting 2, for creating a 3 story setup. (their one story rolling unit with shelf is smaller than this setup and won't work) 5 stars across the board! We are very happy =)

I bought this cage for my two rats, however I will say right off that this cage is not made for rats! The spaces between the bars are too far apart and I had to add chicken wire around it, this is just an fyi to rat owners looking into this cage. The cage itself is exactly as expected besides the bar spacing but that’s my fault for not checking into it further! This was easy to put together and has held up well for the almost year that I’ve had it. It is not hard to clean and can be taken apart and put back together if needed to do so. I also like the fact that I can use the top and bottom sections separately and have different animals in each if I wished. Overall this cage has been great and I have no complaints about it.

I purchased two of the double cages in white, one for each of my chinchillas. It took me about two hours to put one together alone, as it can get a little difficult holding all of the pieces in place so they don’t pop out of the holes while you’re trying to connect the other sides, but I was able to assemble them by myself. :) Regarding the cages themselves, I didn’t have any issues with the first cage but the second cage “top” had two prongs missing so I had to zip tie it to the top/back of the cage. Since I’m using these for chinchillas I’ll be removing the plastic shelves, but needed to use them temporarily — unfortunately over half of the shelf prongs that connect the shelf to the cage were either already broken or broke upon attachment to the cage. The litter pans are a bit small and barely fit into the bottom of the cage — they kind of tilt to one side (I may place some cardboard between the pan and the cage, under the pan, to stabilize things) so you have to be careful there. Please note, the rack separating top cage from bottom is not removable, which was important to me because chinchillas need room to bounce around. I was able to cut the center rack with bolt cutters and file the metal smooth without sacrificing the stability of the product, which allowed me to open the cage and make it better for the chins. There is also a metal rack on the bottom of the cage, which isn’t good for chinchillas and their little feet. I purchased a metal pan to go inside the cage, but based it off the pan measurement shown in the listing, which (as noted above) wasn’t the right size. Instead of returning the two galvanized steel pans I purchased… I may try to get some untreated wood to create a frame around them, that way there aren’t any gaps and they are safe for the chins. I’m still not sure what I’ll do here. Overall, these cages are great for the price, they are sturdy, and they have worked great for my chins who absolutely love having the additional space! I would definitely purchase these again, even with the tweaking I had to do!!

Very Sturdy And The Bar facing is not the best and I would not recommend for a little baby rats or any type of little pet it is fine for an adult rat or a ferret but the cage is good size and it’s perfect for my two rats I had to put some thing to cover the bottom so they couldn’t escape but I can fit a lot of stuff and it’s very sturdy and it is perfect with the wheels because I can move it anywhere in my room and my rats love it and like to explore so I would definitely recommend for adult rats I only got the single cage and I was a bit worried it would be too small but it’s actually big so if you are getting double story it would be perfect for your rats or whatever you have so overall it’s good I had a Little trouble assembling it but it works fine now so I definitely would recommend

Very happy with the quality for the low price! Instructions are not clear so the assembly took a little bit of time but it wasn't too difficult to figure out.

I have bought three of these for squirrels in our wildlife rescue. The cages seem to be well made, and I’ve not had any problems with the manufacturing of the cages. We have had problems with the shipping. I’m not sure if the problem has happened at Yaheetech or FedEx, but we had cages that were obviously picked up with a forklift where the forklift had been shoved into the box breaking the lower tray. Amazon and I tried to get help from Yaheetech, but the customer service is basically nonexistent. I emailed multiple times and called multiple times. They basically told me to contact Amazon, but I don’t think the problem happened at Amazon. I was able to purchase a tray that was made as a replacement tray for a Midwest dog cage, which fit well enough. It was the correct length and it sticks out an inch or two on the front but that’s okay. All of the shelves were broken in the shipment too, but the squirrels would chew them up anyway so I wasn’t worried about that. I plan to buy a fourth one the next time they go on sale and hopefully FedEx doesn’t strike again. Edit: we have two of the smaller version, and both have had some black liquid drain out of the legs on the front panel (the one with the door). Thankfully this occurred on hardwood which could be cleaned, but be forewarned not to put this on carpet without a tray under it

Absolutly perfect size for 1 ferret! Easy to install between the instructions and the video provided on amazon! 30 min tops!. Shipped a day early! Throw some ferret mats on top of the grating and you're as good as Gold. No sense in spending that extra money on the name brand. Locks work great wheels roll amazingly across carpet and hard floor, if you don't need/want the wheels, you can snap em right back off. The cage has rubber stubs to not scratch flooring. Solid built cage! Super easy to clean and great for storage

I was looking to upgrade my ferret's cage and thought this one looked pretty good for the price. Well... 1- The instructions are not clear and the parts are not numbered, so you are left guessing. The way they instruct you to assemble it seems like a joke when you get it all together, it would be much easier if you do it in a different way. When I was tightening all the screws I realized something wasn't quite right, the hole in between the floors and the ladders and so on won't allign. In order to solve this, I would have had to disassemble the whole thing and I'm not even sure what I would do differently to make them fit. I ended up doing a DIY, where to go up and down they use flex tubes instead, because the ladders were a mess. I also ended up removing with pliers the "door" in between floors because it was backwards. 2- The pictures show 2 levels with a dark plastic tray. Well, there is only 1 plastic and it goes underneath the metal bars. This is not good for ferrets or small animals. My simple solution was to put the plastic bin INSIDE the cage and get some coroplast, cut it to size and make a new floor for the other floor. I wanted to have a CAGE FOR FERRETS once assembled, but that didn't end up being the case. 3- Only one side of the doors open. It's not like the "good" cages where you can open both and access, if you have to clean, it's not the most comfortable thing ever. 4-Not thrilled with the shipping. I was supposed to come on Saturday and it came on Tuesday. I could have gone with another color or another cage altogether, but I chose this one in part for the quick shipping. Oh, well, it is all good. Apart from that the cage is just fine. If you are into adapting things, then probably you can make it work, but I wouldn't use this out of the box with ferrets.

Mine is for two baby bunnies. It's an acceptable size for now, provided I let them out every day for exercise. Their feet don't fit through the spaces in the floor grates but animals like guinea pigs might have issues. You can slide out the floor grate and let your critters wander on the bedding tray. If you have that issue, maybe duct tape some cardboard around the bottom of the cage so bedding material doesn't fly everywhere. I think it will be too small for two rabbits once they get bigger. It's easy to clean the litter tray. I found it relatively easy to assemble following the diagrams, I suggest not tightening all the bolts until fully assembled.

Absolutely brilliant 👏 bought this cage at a fantastic price and worth every penny .. bought for my African grey parrot for when we take her with us at weekends ..ample room inside to climb and play ..Nice big secure door at front and large door on top which could be left open and toys put on top ..wheels easily.. quickly assembled instructions provided but not needed ..looks great can't believe what a bargain so I bought another for years to come .. buy one you won't be disappointed

It’s hard to tell how sturdy it is by looking at photos and for the price it makes ya wonder. We received it fast it was easy to set up and a solid unit. So if your wonder “ how solid is this thing” I’m impressed, and that’s not easy.

Moi j'ai acheté pour mon rat, et il y a une craque sur le dessus trop grande, car il peut sortir. Je ne voulais pas la grille par dessus le bac donc j'ai installé les 2 supports de travers. Maintenant ceci fonctionne parfaitement. Voir les photos. Aucun outil supplémentaire et pas brisé. J'ai reçu 2 vis en extra aussi
