Extremely Nice!
This review is for the Masalong Outdoor Survival claw made of Damascus steel. I have seen other claw knives offered by Masalong and they seem pretty decent overall. Admittedly I was not expecting a lot when I ordered this particular claw. I figured it would be nice, but nothing really special. Well, I have to admit that I was very surprised when it arrived. It came in a nice form-fitted box that was sealed in plastic, and it was shipped in a padded mailer. To sum things up, this is a very fine piece. The pattern of the Damascus steel is distinct and pleasing to the eye. The handle fits the tang as nice as knives costing many times this amount. There were no gaps whatsoever. The handle was very well fitted and has a texture that facilitates a comfortable and solid grip. The tip of the blade is extremely pointed and should penetrate with ease. The blade is quite sharp, but not razor sharp. Really, this is a good thing because knives with razor edges generally do not hold their sharpness after a bit of use. The top cutting edge is equally sharp, as are the serrations. The finger ring is a nice size and is chamfered for comfort. The entire claw reeks of quality and fine workmanship. It's solid and looks great. The kydex sheath is pretty nice as well. The sheath holds the knife securely, while still allowing for a safe and easy draw. The belt clip that is attached to the sheath is equally nice. It attaches to one's belt with ease and is very comfortable to wear. The clip can be placed on either side of the sheath for right and left hand use. Considering the $50+ dollar price, this is an amazing product. All in all, this claw represents an exceptional value that would make a most interesting and unique addition to one's collection. Martial artists should also appreciate its design and quality. If you are looking for a high quality claw that won't break the bank, this is it. I am very pleased. Stay safe out there, and God bless America!

Everything you would expect, and so much more!
This Masalong Karambit styled knife is just amazing! Right out of the box this knife is super sharp, so make sure you never touch the blade, I made that mistake not expecting the quality to be that good, so I learned the hard way! The knife sits perfectly in it's sheath, and you don't need to worry about it ever popping out as the friction is pretty good. Even with that, as long as you give it a good pull it will pop out, making it pretty easy to open up and use as well. The double sided blade makes this thing a great tool for whenever you would need it, and the full tang makes it feel extremely well put together and sturdy! While I am not a Damascus Steel expert, but to me it looks real, and beautiful. You can feel the texture of the layers of steel and it makes the overall finish of the knife truly stunning. Overall, I completely recommend this knife!

Very sharp and useful knife
This knife is Very sharp! I bought this knife because my son in-law had one and I loved his bear claw so much for opening boxes but mine is so sleek and sharp I hate to use it for that. I really like this and I am sure I will figure it out. Grateful to a son in-law who has cool gadgets that I can try and then go get my own.

Good product overall, but thin margin for proper/safe handling
Knife seems sturdy, definitely feels like quality steel, though I can’t tell if it’s real Damascus style forged or simply acid brushed (not that it truly matters for a knife this price). The sheath is good, satisfying and reassuring “click” when you slot it in, which is always nice. The belt clip is also dynamic, in that you can unscrew it and reposition it for either side, and any direction. From the way it gets held in by the sheath, it probably wouldn’t fall out, even if upside down, without very significant force. Either way it looks beautiful, comes with a good enough starting edge (you’ll want to sharpen it further if you want to put it to real use), and feels worth the price tag. However, if you have large hands, this likely won’t fit in your hand properly. Ironically, in their attempt to make it more ergonomic, it’s actually very unwieldy if your hands don’t precisely fit the handle shape. To be specific, the angled bump near the middle is juuuust too far up, and my ring finger cannot sit comfortably on it. It’s either pinched on the side if I rest it with my middle finger, or awkwardly juts out if I rest it with my pinky. If they had made the gap for your pinky a bit smaller, it would have been perfect. Any knife that doesn’t feel just right in your hand isn’t safe to use, so unfortunately I’ll be returning it. My hands aren’t even that big, roughly six inches from tip of middle finger to bottom of palm. Just a bit longer than my iPhone 6s+, for reference. So if you have a fist like an anvil or can grip a basketball with one hand, this ain’t it.

Fantastic Knife
I love this knife. The stacked Damascus on each side with a high carbon steel core for a san mai constructions looks great. The pattern is bold and beautiful. It holds and edge really well and is wicked sharp. My only issue is that I had to sharpen the back edge myself as it came rather dull.

Good quality for the price
Im happy with it, it came with a belt clip, and sheath and is super sharp. I highly advise people who have a little experience handling knives because these double-edged ones can mess you up if you aren't careful. Good quality for the price

Very pretty and sharp
got this today and I like it so far. we will see how well it holds an edge, but it is very sharp from the factory. Both edges including the serrated edge is very sharp. The hole for your forefinger fits me perfectly, but if you had fingers much bigger you would have a hard time. The thing I like the most is that the sheath is very versatile. you can mount it about 20 differnt ways. the holes line up on the belt mount with the holes on the sheath in just about any way you can put it. so finding an angle to suit your style and carry side should be easy.
