14x26 Woven Polypropylene Sand Bags With Ties & UV Protection (500 Bags)

Inferior - photodegraded & disintegrated well before their time
These bags were ordered in April. We kept them indoors while waiting to build to protect them from photodegrading. We started using them in late May to build an earthbag wall. By late June they started shredding and falling apart. While they're stated to have UV protection, it seems it can't be very much (if at all). Even if they did have adequate UVI treatment - the commercial standard is 1600 hour - then I must suspect that they're either old (sitting overlong in a shipping container), or they were subjected to a damp storage environment, or otherwise improperly stored by the supplier. We specialize in earthbag construction, and we've been at it for over six years. We were in a pinch (our usual supplier was on a weeks vacation) and so ordered them from Amazon. We've never had bags fail like these.. Obviously, we can't return them. All we can do is to alert buyers. If you're going to use them immediately and/or for the short-term, they might to be OK. For sustained use or for earthbags, we'd suggest shopping around, maybe spending a little more & buying them from a more reliable source.

This product is great for anyone looking for a temporary sandbag solution.
I'm not sure what other people are doing with theirs, but I filled mine with sand, packed them together on the ground and they worked great. I'd say this product is great for anyone looking for a 'temporary' sandbag solution.I used this (filled) product at the top of my gravel driveway where it meets the gravel road to stop (continued) erosion from occurring during a week of stormy weather. I did not drive over the filled sand bags. I don't personally think they'd have lasted too long if I had.To fill them, I purchased 50lb bags of children's play sand from my local home improvement box store, I simply slid the bag of play sand about a 1/4 of the way down into the purchased woven fiberglass sand bag, carefully sliced the bottom of the play sand bag open, and giggled every time 50lbs of sand quickly and easily inserted itself into each sandbag, I wet the sand before closing the bags, and tied about four overhand knots around the top of the scrunched up bag with the provided tie. This process got much easier with time, and I recommend utilizing gloves for the tying process... experience is still speaking with each key stroke of my right pinky finger. As for prolonged outdoor use, I'd probably say look at another product as this is equivalent to a thin tarp. It's only going to last so long when exposed to unrestricted weather. I do believe if they're stored away from the sun and direct elements, then they'd last a long time on standby. The shipper shipped immediately, in-fact I even received the order a day earlier than I expected. Thank you! This is what I expected to receive when I purchased them, they worked as I expected them too so I'm therefor giving them a 5-star review. Enjoy!

Doesn't Break Down With UV Exposure
Live in Florida along the Atlantic Coast. The bags purchased from a commercial outfits or the ones issued by the county do not hold up therefore the bags burst. Because of the long and threating hurricane season that exists in Florida, loaded bags are not immediately removed from the areas placed. Therefore they are exposed to UV rays and these Polypropylene bags solve the problem of breakage. Not a real problem but I wish that they were made a little wider to support all types of shovels. Would certainly buy again and again.

not uv treated
I imagine this product either has a lot of fake reviews or people are not using them outside. I bought these to use on the farm to weigh down silage tarps in the spring. The side facing down began disintigrating within 2 months of cloudy Oregon coast spring weather. this is not an exaggeration. i put them out in late march and by late may i couldnt pick them up without the bag falling away and leaving the gravel on the ground.I now have millions of horrible little plastic tendrils blowing around my property and 40 lb piles of rocks everywhere that need to be cleaned up.I not only wish I could get a refund for these, but I also wish the dishonest company who makes these things would send somebody over to clean up my yard.

Good value
You pay a good price for the quality and quantity given. These bags are meant for quick transportation and being empty within a years time. These are not meant to be left in the sun. These are not long lasting bags. You fill them, use them quickly for whatever application and then toss the bags if they look like they can’t be reused. I buy and use hundreds of these bags. Ignore the nay sayers as they fill them and then leave them for a long time and especially in the sun 24/7 365...

Good product
These bags appear to be well made and are exactly what I was looking for. I needed some bags that could be filled with 25-30 pounds of sand to make them easier for me or my wife to handle. This amount of sand fills the bag less than half full, so there's plenty of room if I wanted to make bigger bags. I use these as weight for my lawn aerator and to help hold down the legs on our pop-up canopy.

Rots like kids' teeth in Candy Land
This would be a zero point review if I could do it!We filled these with compost about 5-6 weeks ago and sat them in the shade of a North facing wall in So Cal. In that time, the've degraded to the point that they cannot even be shifted without rupturing. We may as well have just left the original pile as it was for all the good these things have done.

Disintegrated
I was really excited to get these bags. I got them because I have 2 tons of rubber mulch I wanted to sell, by the bag. they were easy to fill and tie. they held ~1 q ft. which was perfect for selling the mulch. Luckily I only filled about 10 of them because when I tried to move them, after a couple months of being stacked in the back yard they disintegrated. This sucks because now I have small pieces of the white bag in my brown mulch (see pic).
