Pick these picks, you’ll like them
Dunlop picks are my favorite, good grip and thickness for my playing.

Perfect for Heavy Riffs and Solos!
The Dunlop Gator Grip Pick 1.5mm is a fantastic choice for any guitarist who loves to play heavy riffs and intricate solos. The thickness of the 1.5mm pick gives you incredible control and precision, allowing you to dig deep into those heavy power chords and shred with ease. Whether you're playing fast-paced metal or hard rock, these picks have the perfect balance of durability and grip to make every note crisp and clear. I personally use these picks for solos, and the added thickness provides great articulation, especially when you’re playing fast licks or heavy bends. The textured grip is also fantastic, providing stability even when your hands are sweaty from playing hard. However, if you’re primarily an acoustic guitar player who enjoys strumming open chords or fingerpicking, these might not be the best fit. They're a little on the stiff side for smooth strumming, so you might want to opt for something lighter or more flexible for those purposes. Overall, for anyone looking to up their game with heavy riffs, solos, and fast-paced rock or metal, these are a must-have! Highly recommend them for electric guitar players.

My Current Favorite Picks
I used to use the super heavy version of these for years, and I always loved them. Since then, I've been bouncing around between a few others, going from Jazz III, to Big Stubby, back to the classic Fender Heavy, and back to what I used to use but a bit lighter with these. The .96mm ones are the perfect compromise - they're thick with a bit of flex and the coating makes them easy to hang onto. They do seem to grind down with time, and they start to lose their edge a bit faster than other picks I've used, but it's a pretty minor complaint. Overall, these are great picks at a fairly reasonable price.

Good picks, but not too grippy
I paid $5.76 for12 pack. I think this package is best value for the price. The material is very similar to Tortex picks. I was a Tortex user, but decided to give this one a try because I wanted grippier picks and loved Tortex material. It looks cute with an alligator graphic on it. Also, it plays very similar to Tortex pick. The size is slightly smaller than Tortex, but it is almost ignorable. It was very comfortable to me as I am very used to playing with Tortex. They designed this pick with more rough surface to increase grippiness. It was actually better. I could feel more friction when I hold it with my fingers. It gives more control of pick grip. I can be more precise with my picking with this pick. Maybe, the size of it increase picking precision too. I was worried a bit that the rough surface may create more friction when plucking strings or strumming. Picking was the same as Tortext. There was no rough feeling when it hits strings. It was very smooth. I deducted one star because of the grip. The surface becomes smooth quite easily. If this happens, the grip becomes almost the same as Tortex picks. I think they should make the center of the pick a little more rough.

Good pick…. Softer than tortex. Grip is “meh”
Pick are always personal opinions . Kudos to Dunlop for making so many variations , but there is one obvious “gap” in their lineup : no standard shape (351) tortex pick in 1.5mm. So this is the closest option. But the Gator Grip material seems slightly softer and with a “fuzzier” surface texture than standard tortex. I would prefer standard tortex or tortex-flex, but this is still a very good, useable pick.
