We used this as a candy dispenser for a while, and it works great for peanut M&Ms. I've also tried it with roasted almonds, which works nicely as well. However, the turn measurement is WAY more than a comfortable handful - at least for me - so when it comes to grabbing a small amount of a snack I usually only turn it a fraction to make sure I can hold everything that's dispensing. The knob, thankfully, moves quite smoothly and allows for partial turns. The container is entirely made of a very light plastic. However, it's decently sturdy on its base when full, and I haven't had any issue with cleaning it or keeping the things inside of it fresh. You could probably fit a family-sized box of cereal in the container, space-wise. I also haven't had any issue with plastic taste leaching into the food over time, as many containers will do. One downside is that the lid on the top is just set in place - there is no locking mechanism. So if it gets tipped over, it is very likely to spill everywhere. Make sure it is placed somewhere with a flat, sturdy base and you should be good.

My husband loves peanuts and eats a handful everyday. Found this great little dispenser, and it works perfectly! We keep a little bowl underneath it to use and catch any crumbs. Also found that white tabletop vacuum in the picture to pickup any stray crumbs. Keeps as fresh as in the peanut can. I wouldn't fill it with too much as I am sure after a while whatever you use it for might go stale, but the nuts are gone fast enough that it is perfect for him! Looks pretty, too. Love it!

I use this at the reception desk in our office to dispense candy. We have used both skittles and M&Ms and they both work great in here. We initially use 3-ounce dixie cups to dispense into but have moved to 4-ounce ice cream cups as the dixie cup diameter was slightly too small. About 1.5 ounces disperse from one turn so there is a decent amount that will dispense, we also keep a tray underneath to catch any loose ones that will disperse when it is hit or when someone nudges my desk. Overall, it is a good product for the cost, some improvements would be stability, and a tray below that has a deeper indent so it can catch loose items.

I bought a couple of these for the kitchen in my office and oh. my. god. Everyone in the office LOVES them! They are such a hit! They look professional and they keep people from using their hands to grab things. I love that the knob that holds the candy is silicone because it makes it easier to put larger things in there. I currently have some chocolate clusters that I didn't think would hold, but are doing great! Plus, they dispense well too! It's also super easy to take apart and clean, I cannot recommend these enough.

I initially got this for M&Ms but they are so small and relatively heavy that you got way too many per turn of handle. Then I used it for cheerios for my kids. It works perfect except it's not air tight. So you can expect stale cereal in a few days. It's a good design, just don't use it for anything that will go stale quickly. I just need to find the right snack to put in it.

PERFECT as a dog kibble dispenser. Fits in my cupboard and makes filling dog bowl so easy! Great size & shape.

We use these for bulk nuts that we buy at Costco. Costco sells nuts in bags instead of the plastic containers now. However I wish I would have used these before so no "dirty" fingers were digging in the containers. Now even if the nuts were in the plastic containers I would use these to dispense nuts or cereal or whatever cleanly. Great idea and they look great in pantry

You may get a little more than what you ask for when turning the knob, depending on your stock. I would've given it 5 stars if it preserved food longer and/or had better portion control.
