MAXXIS Holy Roller - Wire Bead - Single Compound - Silkworm | Dirt to Pavement Versatility

First the bad. This tire is pretty bad on the wet stuff. Even on small puddles and damp spots they will walk out on you. I have these installed on a ebike and they are excellent on paved roads, gravel paths and hard pack dirt. Basically similar to a bmx bike tire for a mtb. Rolls fast, strong, lots of tread, durable. One of the best attributes of the tire is the turn in. I ran 3 other sets of tires and the added weight of the ebike made turn in feel sketchy. These are smooth and round so the transition is more predictable. Totally fine on steep stuff as well.

This was a quality purchase. Seams lined up . No defects found. With tire mounted on rim looks good and round not misshaped. Priced competitively.

I was curious how well the tires would do on the trails, with the slightly BMX look to them. After riding on them on pavement and dirt, I have the following to say. PROS: Roll extremely fast Hook up well on hard pack to mildly loose dirt Good grip when carving The even tread distribution makes keeping up on a wheelie a breeze The small tread gave them lots of clearance on my Stumpjumper even with them being 2.4's. CONS: I have slightly washed out on loose dirt in corners, which wasn't unexpected given the tread depth and lack of large corner lugs. Great tire overall! I've really enjoyed riding on them.

Put these on a Cannondale F1000 (1999) with a 8Fun mid-drive electric motor kit. The bike is used as a commuter, campground bike, grassy surfaces, light trails and fire roads when back in BLM land. Perfect tire for this application: good on pavement, good on grass, good on hard pack, good on desert pebble/rock surfaces. Not so much in really loose sand and definitely not good in mud, but then neither am I. I have the 26x2.4 wire bead and while a bit heavy for performance riding, they are a great all-around tire and the round profile fits well inside the rear stays.

I have tried many tires for the back of my three mountain bikes. This one beats them all ! Great traction on pavement, hard pack and loose soil. Cleans it self pretty good in the mud. Rolling resistance is very low. Very low noise when rolling. I like them so much I put one on each bike and bought a spare to boot. I will try one on the front and update my review. Good price from Amazon. They also wear really well.

Holy Rollers are the best, have used these 10+ years and not one flat or problem with them. The trick is to use dual tubes 1 as a liner makes for great sidewall protection. Can't beat this tire, super grippy in town, just enough float on the sandy mtb dirt trails in Dallas Fort Worth. At 37 psi they will last many miles. update 8/15/2025 800 miles on them no flats or issues!

Ich habe mir diesen Reifen als Stadtreifen zugelegt, da meine alten MTB-Reifen einen enorm hohen Rollwiderstand haben und mittlerweile auch so langsam verschließen sind. Optisch sehen sie super aus, sie sind gut verarbeitet und lassen sich trotz des Drahtes gut montieren. Bei höherem Druck ist man damit auch echt zackig unterwegs. Aber die Hauptbremskraft am Rad ist bei den meisten ja sowieso der Wind. Ich habe nun auch schon (versehentlich) einige Glasscherben auf den Straßen mitgenommen, die sie aber unbeschadet überstanden haben. Die Straßenhaftung ist sehr gut, sodass man bei guten Bremsen schnell zum stehen kommt ohne übermäßig zu rutschen. Selbst bei Nässe hatte ich bisher keine Probleme. Und nach einigen hundert Kilometern ist noch kein bemerkenswerter Verschleiß zu erkennen. Im Gelände kann man ihn durchaus auch fahren, solange der Untergrund fest bleibt. Guter Reifen, klare Kaufempfehlung.

I run maxxis Ikon 3c for trail use and these holy rollers for paved/gravel path riding. The ikon is my favourite all round tire but for urban use these holy rollers rock! Fast, quiet, excellent grip and look great. Only gripe is they throw a bit of stones up but not enough to bother me. I have tried many brands and maxxis are the best. Can’t go wrong and worth the money they last a loooooong time

AMPF1に使用です。 街乗りやちょっとしたダートも問題なく使えます。 走行ノイズも少なくコーナリングの癖も余り感じません。 20インチの為耐摩耗性に関しては余り期待はしていませんが値段も手頃なんでリピートするつもりです。
