Delicious recipes but don’t be fooled!
These are delicious recipes but don’t be fooled! Many are NOT easy! In fact most are not. So far I’ve found the recipes to have many many ingredients beyond what would typically be found. A lot of the recipies have ingredients that can be hard to find. I am glad I got this book though, they are good recipes and I am learning to cook healthier!

Beautiful photos and accessible vegan recipes!
I received The Buddhist Chef cookbook after pre-ordering it and it does not disappoint! It is love at first glance. The photos are lovely, the recipes look delicious and are described in a simple, accessible way. The layout of the cookbook is easy to follow. It starts with a breakfast chapter, moves though lunch, dinner, and desserts, and the index is very practical.I'm going to buy a copy of this to send to my non-vegan mother to show her just how doable vegan cooking can be. So glad Jean-Philippe wrote this gem!

Superb Vegan Cookbook!
I rarely buy cookbooks anymore, as I've been vegan for so many years that it is rare to find a unique one. I absolutely love this book! I started with the salmon bagel topping and pretty much worked my way through the book! Everything is great. Ingredients are easily sourced and generally quite inexpensive. Most of the recipes are uncomplicated, so you don't end up eating dinner at 11 pm! He manages to put a fairly new and exciting twist on some classics as well as bringing innovative recipes you haven't seen before, to the plate. As someone who is not often impressed with vegan cookbooks, I AM IMPRESSED!

Easy recipes
Recipes can be followed by anyone, they don't use too many ingredients and not overly time consuming. The photos are very nice. Only thing missing, in my opinion would be nice to have the calorie count for the recipe. If you are a new to vegan or plant-based I would recommend this for your collection.

Amazing vegan recipes!
This a great recipe book and I’m looking forward to trying some of them out—I’ve bookmarked almost half of the recipes! I’ve been on and off vegan/vegetarian for years but was interesting in trying something new—this definitely gives me a direction to head in!Cons: 1. As someone else mentioned, the binding isn’t that great. Upon first reading, the back cover is already peeling off (the glue isn’t holding). 2. Literally EVERY recipe in this book calls for maple syrup? Seriously?? I’m already wondering if I can skip all the sugary additions, including nutritional yeast that many of the recipes call for. 3. There are a LOT of recipes that call for gluten flour, so if you’re eating gluten free like me, those recipes might as well not exist. I wish there were gluten-free edits available but don’t think it’s possible with seitan.Pros: These recipes seem like they’ll be pretty amazing!

Try it, you will love it!
We love all of The Buddhist Chef recipes I have made. While waiting for the cookbook to come out I would make recipes he posted on his website. They taste great without a lot of work. Sometimes I need to make a quick meal that I know will taste great. If there is something he adds that I don't like I omit it. I don't use salt or oil so I just skip it. It is really easy to adapt his recipes to your cooking style. He also got me using my cast iron pans again! I forgot how much I love using them vs the non-stick poison pans.

Easy and tasty, love it!
This book has been a great partner in my exploration into vegan cooking. As usual, if it gets 5 stars it's because there are plenty of recipes my husband and my child love. I cook almost all the dishes without the maple syrup (a very common ingredient in this book) and the recipes are still delicious.

Delicious, Easy, Healthy Vegan Recipes
I love this cookbook! I’ve been following the Buddhist Chef blog for years and was thrilled to finally get his cookbook. These are delicious vegan recipes that are easy to make, many of which are comfort food classics that anyone, vegan or not, will enjoy. Beautiful photographs and simple directions make this a great cookbook.
