Interesting
Itโs very interesting the type of logic and thinking that Freud uses in the cases and examples presented in the book.

Freud is always a great read
I am a Freud fan, so, you won't hear anything bad from me regarding this book. Most individuals are divided over Mr. Freud. Some absolutely despise him and some absolutely love him. I absolutely love his literature. This submission provides a very interesting and unique look into the accepted and un-accepted with regard to totem and taboo. If you find that you are on the fence about Freud, take a chance and read it. If your not a fan or no chance of being a fan, you are likely not seeing this review anyhow, so, jump in! Its Freud! Just the thought of attempting to see any topic through the eyes of Freud is tantalizing beyond belief.

A Must Read
Whatever you think about Freud's theory about childhood sexual development, his observations in Totem and Taboo, Moses and Monotheism, and Society and its Discontents, are spot on. All three books are full of insights on the sources of human behavior, most of which hidden or masked as something else. Freud's exposure of the tangible reality that lies behind, jokes, myths, mores, etc., ring true. Like Sherlock Holmes explanations of his deductions, Freud's explanations of the sources behind much of what we believe become obvious. You say to yourself, "Of course. Why did it take so long for someone like Freud to tell us what should have been obvious?"

Great literary work
Great book sometimes while reading I would remember some of the religious practices that I so and see resemblances with it and the ancient customs and rituals. It really gives a reason for the beliefs and practices of religions, as for its veracity I am doubtful.

Great insights
Great to read. I was more interested in the content than the few spelling errors that some of the other reviews found troubling - if you are interested in Freud's perspectives you will appreciate this translation.

One of those books that form a worldview. Many shocking and interesting facts. The nature of ancient man, viewed through the prism of psychoanalysis, the motives of our behavior. I advise everyone.

Good Ol' Freud
I needed to reread Freud to learn about totem. The taboo part, while interesting is a bit outdated. The Oedipal complex oh well. Back to the Golden Bough.

Freud is a brilliant writer and thinker
Given the cultural context it was written in- some of the terminology may turn some people away early on (referring to tribal cultures as savages and such). Get over it and read the book. Well worth it. Freud is a brilliant writer and thinker.

Totem and taboo. Ok!
L'assenza delle note a margine del testo la trovo una scelta sbagliata. Arrivato nei tempi previsti.Bella la copertina. Grazie all'uso di un font di grandi dimensioni si legge molto bene.
