I love these and the great price

I was about to add a different brand of macadamia nuts (3 lb bag) to my cart and then saw this 3 lb bag and thought this one looked better (or maybe read something that seemed better about it) - whatever the reason, I bought these. They arrived, the bag has an "easy open" tab to pull which should rip off the top leaving the bag open and with a Ziploc type of seal, which is a great idea, but when I ripped the tab it messed up and opened the bag in a weird way which left the nuts exposed. But that's a minor issue - I was going to just dump them into a Ziploc bag. BUT - I could smell a bad smell, then I tasted them, and they were RANCID!!! They smell (and taste) like the floor of a garage, with like an almost oily/gasoline type smell! PLUS - I didn't expect all whole nuts, but almost all of it is halves and pieces, and not only that, but halves and pieces of SMALL nuts, not larger ones that seem to be normal from other brands. I just bought the other brand that I was originally going to buy and they just arrived and they are almost all whole nuts, taste great, clean, bag opened fine, etc. Of all the problems with this product I could have lived with ANY of them EXCEPT THAT THESE ARE NOT EVEN EDIBLE!!! AND AMAZON WON'T LET ME RETURN THESE EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE "PRIME"!!! TERRIBLE!!! After this review I'm complaining to Amazon's customer service immediately!!!!

Tasty and very good!

Torn between a 3 and 4 star rating. I'm attaching a photo to show the underwhelming appearance of the bag of hazelnuts (compared to the product photos). My biggest disappointment however was in the taste (and smell). The moment I opened the bag, I smelled "warehouse cardboard". I don't know where these are made or how they're packaged (probably not vacuum-sealed) but I was not ready for that strong, unpleasant smell. I tried a few and at least they weren't stale (expiration date was thankfully 19 months away) but also not tasting like fresh. Since they're blanched, perhaps that has something to do with it. I think they will fit my need (chopping then baking) but I would be disappointed if these were meant for snacking. I've had a few on several occasions and I've had Kirkland nuts I've enjoyed more.

We like these in salads mainly. They were fresh enough but not the freshest we've had. They weren't sour or spoiled and the value was fantastic. Mostly whole but some pieces here and there. You get so much we put them in three containers to store in the fridge. When needed, I will roast them with a dash of salt for flavor. I like they are unsalted so I can use Himalayan salt with them while roasting for extra good taste.

Pleasantly surprised! The nuts are excellent quality for the price. Finding roasted nuts without salt in a local store is difficult. I wish this company offered a recurring subscription service.

This order was overcooked and not as tasty as usual. I've ordered from this seller multiple times and this time was disappointing. Normally the nuts are pleasantly roasted without being hard and stale. The expiration date was for 2026 so the roasting process must have been the error. The price is good and love the unsalted version. Will still probably reorder again if the price doesn't skyrocket.
