## Overview

The 2V Geodesic Dome Hub Kit features 26 powder-coated black steel brackets made from durable 12-gauge zinc-plated steel, designed for weather resistance and longevity. ## Description

This dome kit takes all the legwork out of calculating your own complicated cuts and measurements from constructing your own wooden geodesic dome. Our hubs are made up of thick 12 gauge zinc plated steel. These hubs are also weather resistant and will withstand being exposed to the elements for years to come. All you need to do is source 35 pieces of either either 8ft or 10ft long 2X4's or 2X3's. All that's need is for you to cut each piece of lumber in half using either a circular saw or hand saw. Assembly: The provided manual will have detailed assembly instructions that are so easy to use that a team of 2 people and construct a dome in under 3 hrs.

Review: Improvements can be made on the design. - Solid metal, but the instructions invert the standard 2V dome layout by swapping the bottom pieces for A's instead of B's, making a taller dome with a shorter diameter, so you can't rely on the board length designation letters on the connectors themselves. There is no stop for the 2x4 lumber, but they touch each other and meet at the edges if you screw it in very carefully. I had to use spray foam in the center and vertical supports to make a larger dome with these. If the design had little metal shelves for the board, (harder to manufacture), even if they were just temporary plastic guides, this design would be much easier to work with.

**Q: Can i make a riser wall with it**
A: Hello. Yes you could add risers. The bottom of the dome is flat so you could make boxed risers. Hope that helps.

**Q: Is there a set size the strut must be, or do they just all need to be equal size ? If they are to be a set length, what is the overall dome diameter ?**
A: Hello, we provide you with what to cut 2 different sizes to make either a 15-wide dome or an 18ft wide one from 8 or 10 ft lumber. Please visit our site for more detailed information.

**Q: What do you mean by “cut each piece of lumber in half using either a circular saw or hand saw”? The pieces don’t cone ready to assemble?**
A: The wooden struts are not included with the hub kit. It is up to the customer to source and cut the lumber per our instructions if they wish to build the dome to the size that we offer on our plans.  Shipping costs for timber would be too expensive and would need to come on a pallet.
