Broil King KA5545 Premium Cooking Grate Set

Great original quality!!

Bought this as a replacement for the grate my son dropped and broke on our concrete patio. The first one shattered into a bunch of pieces when he inadvertently dropped it. He wasn't careful in lifting it with the removal tool. Had to have another exactly like the first because it's such a great design. It doubles your cooking space, and is so convenient when you want to swing the top grate out of the way. It's fantastic for making pizza using two pizza stones. Putting a stone on the top grate allows the toppings on the pizza to cook as quickly as the crust. The cast iron is amazing for searing steaks or chicken, and brushes clean without a problem. The only improvement I would make is if there was a "lift-off" section where you could add more coals in the process of a cook without having to remove the entire grate. Other than that, I'd say it's pretty perfect, which is why I bought it again.

This box is heavily damaged and is covered in tape, so that is how it was shipped. Since this is a Christmas gift I am very concerned that it is damaged or broken because we know these grates are brittle and known to break easily. Very disappointed.

Haven't used it yet, but it appears it will be fine. Arrived on time, and intact (last one was not intact).

This is a valuable addition to the BSK 2000. The extra room and the cast iron are well worth the price. I ordered this as a Christmas present, and it was packaged along with a diffuse kit I also ordered. Unfortunately it was very poorly packaged, and the cast iron was in pieces on unpacking. The good news is that I was able to get a fast turnaround on replacement, even if I did feel silly packing up a broken grate for return. Bottom line - I ended up with an intact grill, and it is a great product.

I use this inside my Green Egg and it fits perfectly! Gives me way more room, and I can do things like veggies or hot dogs on the top rack while I load up the "normal" cast iron rack with meat. The cast iron grate makes really nice grill marks on my food, and the fact that the top rack swings out of the way is brilliant. The only thing I would caution is that swing the top out slowly - stuff could fly off if you aren't paying attention.

I use the Keg year round, at least once a week. After two years I decided to replace the grates: the only parts that show significant wear. I am very, very happy with the Broil King Keg and the new grate set.

Perfect replacement for the 3 year old innards of my Big Steel Keg. I didn't realize that the cover had ripped and allowed a lot of water to enter the top during the winter. The replacement is a match.

Piece of grate broke out within a few weeks of receipt. Not very good quality.
