best little gem I never knew I needed
I bought this 9 months ago and it has been the best little gem I never knew I needed. I have used this for a variety of things. Mixing soap. That is what I bought it for. But it also makes great green tea lattes and mixing small batches of things, plus smoothies, protein drinks, green drinks, hummus, etc. Whatever. Easy to use and even easier to clean. I am really just surprised how useful this little blender is. The retail price is also very good on this. I bought it because it had the best reviews for the least amount of money and I too can recommend this. I have had no problems with this blender whatsoever.

It's a good product, but make sure you aren't buying this ...
It's a good product, but make sure you aren't buying this to mix your coffee in a coffee mug. It will spill out....too strong for small applications. I like to mix butter and eggs into my coffee....something called a bullet proof coffee....whole other story. Google it. So I thought this would help without putting everything in the blender and waking up the house. Well, it helps to an extent. I have to put all the ingredients in a larger container, then mix with this. But it's still quicker and cleaner than a blender, and more quiet. Not quiet, but more quiet than a blender. So, still serves it's purpose.

Overall, fairly mediocre.
For an immersion blender, you can't blend particularly deep pots of food. And if you work the motor too hard, it'll start to give a burning smell. After a long while of use, I even managed to crack the plastic a bit. I'm positive that this is as much my fault as it is the products. Meaning: I'm a clumsy fool, and this product can't necessarily stand up to fools. Moreover, it'll never blend as fine as a traditional blender will. However, for what I paid, I'm completely satisfied with this very mediocre hand blender. I use it to break down what needs to be blended so that it's small enough for my stand blender to take on, and it works great for that.

Great for blending small quantities
I bought mine 6 years ago for making soap. I make small batches ranging from 1 to 3 pounds and it is absolutely perfect for that. I am buying a new one now because mine has had its day and time for a new one. Would I buy this to make big batches of soap or soup for that matter? No. It is pretty basic but is fantastic for small jobs. If you are looking for a powerhouse, this is not the one for you.

GREAT BUY FOR SOAP MAKING!
Fellow "DIY" people, this is one good deal! I didn't get a discount or anything for writing this review, but I wanted to let other people know that this is quite large and powerful if your looking for a blender to make soap, lotions or other DIY products. I hunted around for weeks not sure what to buy for soap making and I took a chance on this since it was just over $10 and I was only using it for soap making. So if anyone is looking for an affordable blender just for making products this is for sure a good buy.

Basic blender...
Update: What a difference a few hours can make! I originally rated this blender at 3 stars earlier today and have now changed my rating to 1 star after using the blender a second time - after using it extremely lightly twice it cracked near the blade (see the product picture I've uploaded). I was blending liquids so I can't imagine this thing surviving crushing things as the description states. If you're smart you'll avoid this blender and pay a few more dollars for one that's more durable. Original review: This is a nice basic hand/stick blender. The price was right for what I needed it for - purchased for soap making so I didn't want to spend a ton of money on it. That being said, I'll probably look for a different one the next time around because this one ended up being bigger and more awkward than I was expecting and I have large hands (if I had smaller hands I definitely wouldn't like using it). The end with the blade detaches for cleaning which is nice but the blade assembly itself doesn't. Pros: Price Cons: The whole thing is bigger than I expected and it's awkward to hold and use (you'd have a hard time using it in a glass to blend something small) The blade doesn't come off for cleaning Not durable

Its Average.
I had a Sunbeam for years that I loved, and thought that most stick mixersxwould be the same. No. Tge Sunbeam had a shallower bowl at the bottom that allowed for easier flow, chunkier items get bogged down in this, along with the blade being raised more from the base, allowing more stuff to be caught under, and with the deeper bowl requiring more effort to scoop out. It also us weaker and noisier than the Sunbeam It'll do the hib, but spend the 3xtra bucks for a Sunbeam or other brand unless they e cheaper out on newer uodated models.

Love It for soups, purees, cold drinks, protein shakes ..
LOVE IT..have been using it almost everyday for bledning soups, making indian lassi, vegetable purees etc and its so handy easy to use very light weight extremely easy to clean Blends pretty well Great price No negatives i can think of. If you are looking for a tool thats easy to use & is affordable go for it. I cannot compare to its expensive counterparts like steel finsih cusinart etc as they are like 40$ (maybe they will be more sturdy ,more hp etc ) but for my limited purpose this fits the bill well.
