You will get more information and context from the basic tutorials then you will from this book.I am serious, this book literally is just "click here, menu drops down, then click here, and then here...." but with no explanation, context or examples. You can learn as much by just going thropugh the drop down menus and ribbons.I have taken multiple classes in regular AutoCAD and own a couple of books on the subject. Here's my advice to you. Get the AutoCAD bible, official text version, and concnetrate on Blocks and Attributes. Then go through the regular and Electrical tutorials.Unfortunately, there are no good books out there on AutoCAD-E. The "Black Book" title I think would be a better purchase if you want a real quick intro, although neither book (this one or the Electrical Black book) is good, and both are full of errors, typos and very short on information. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2019* Good ### ⭐⭐ When will the real book be available? *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2015* This book was purchased with the expectation of getting some help using Symbol Builder to make custom symbols. I used to get by well enough with Black Box Builder in earlier versions of AutoCAD. Since they migrated to Symbol Builder several releases ago, it seemed to be more difficult than it should be to get the results I wanted, if I got usable results at all. So I assume I am doing something wrong and should get some input from somebody that knows what they are doing. According to the books index, topics regarding Symbol Builder are found in Chapter 13. But here is the punchline... THERE IS NO CHAPTER 13 (and if caps make me look like I am shouting, yes I am shouting). There are Chapters 1 through 12 and a Chapter 14, but not a Chapter 13. Is somebody kidding me here? How does a publisher put out a book and forgets to include all the chapters? Is someone going to send me a new book when they get around to printing all the chapters? To be fair, some other areas I scanned in the book appear to be presented well in an easy to follow format. The author highlights key areas within a topic so you can get to the details you want without wading thorough paragraphs of unrelated text. That I like.
