Hallway is finally quiet!
The hallway connecting my kitchen, front door, laundry room and bathroom has been driving me crazy!! When you walk towards an area it not only squeaks, but pops really loud as you start walking away from the area. It's some new type of vinyl flooring the previously owners just put down, but luckily I could access it from the unfinished basement.I started pushing up on the floor from the basement until I found the squeaky spot then screwed the plate into the floor against the joist. Tighten the nut and you're done. This was really easy to install and solved the problem immediately! I used another one in a different location and it also fixed the problem 100%! I purchased two more for other areas and will install them when they arrive. The bolts really started to bend, but seem to be just fine. I may have tightened them more than necessary, but it's hard to tell exactly when to stop.By the way, my carpeted hallway on the second level is even worse. I used 25 of the snap-off screws up there and it's about 80% fixed. Good enough, but I purchased more screws to try and finish the job.

Works Like A Charm!!
i ordered a couple of these to try and alleviate some annoying squeaks in my floor. It's fairly simple, have someone step on the floor where you previously heard the squeaks while you are under the floor so you can determine where to install them.I opted to spread Elmer's Wood Glue along the seam where the floor meets the joist to further tighten, strengthen and quiet the assembly.Using a cordless drill and long Phillips bit, I screwed the plate that holds the threaded screw to the bottom of the floor using all four wood screws. I slipped one end of the "S" bracket over the threaded rod and aligned the other end over the floor joist edge. Then I installed the flat washer and nut onto the threaded rod and snugged it up, listening as the floor tightened to the joist. Don't over tighten, you don't want to pull the screws or bend the bracket too much.Using glue, I have been able to move the clamp around from squeak to squeak leaving it in place for a couple days to allow the glue to fully set.No more squeaks!! Works like a charm!!I highly recommend.

An easier way
My kitchen was filled with squeaks, so I got a few of these to try out.I located a large squeak on the floors underside in the basement, and installed the Squeak Ender. The Squeak Ender was difficult to screw into the base of the floor because it needs to be close to the beam, and only leave you with less than a half inch to try to get two screws in there good. So I finally managed to get it installed, went back upstairs to step on it, and there was no difference.I went back down to tighten it more, still no difference. I installed another right next to it, still no difference. I tried moving it a bit to make sure I had it right where the squeak was. Still there was a squeak. After all this trouble I gave up with it and tried to find another fix.Wood Shims. They are cheap, I got a pack of 10 for about $1.50. Just hammered one under the beam where I was trying to install the Squeak Ender, and it stopped squeaking right away! I used the wood shims on all the other squeaks too. Easy to install and works like magic! Wood Shims, you get 5 stars!Sorry Squeak Ender, you have failed. All that I could possibly get use from you is spare screws.

Works well, squeaks gone.
It's pretty heavy duty, but does bend slightly when over tensioning to get rid of that last tiny squeak. Note that I used these in conjunction with some wood shims gently tapped between the subfloor and the joist.Anyway, I ordered two but only needed one to get rid of a nasty squeak in the bathroom. Funny thing is, when installing the first one, i see the previous owners used 4 of these on an adjacent joist over eight years ago. I tightened those existing ones up a half turn to get rid of the rest of the squeaks.

Perfect item reasonable priced
My house is over 30 years old with major squeaks in the den and bedrooms. I bought this product for my bedroom which is over an unfinished garage so that I could get to the joists easily. I used a combination of this product and Liquid Nails for subfloors. I first used the squeak ender product, then followed up with the Liquid Nails applied at the site of the squeak on both sides of the joist. After being used to squeaking at every step, I am proud and happy to report there is only one tiny squeak left! At $4.99 the price is extremely reasonable, and I have not been able to fine this product anywhere. And even if I could find all the pieces (which I can't), they would cost more than $5. Take it from a cheapskate, you won't do better than this! Oh, and by the way, even if you are female you will find this item very easy to use. I am female and had not problems at all except that some were in tight spaces.

Good concept, but not successful for me.
I used 3 of these in an relatively small area. Made little difference to my squeak problem. Even tried rearranging them. Also pricey. At least for me, they didn’t solve my problem.

Problem solved!
Squeaky floor was very annoying. This gadget solved the problem. A bit tricky for us to access the area in the small crawl space, but once located, this thing worked like a charm. Plan on using at least 2 Squeakenders to really secure the area. Ahhhh, quiet at last.

Works well for de-squeaking floors
Very effective for eliminating floor squeaks in situation where floor deck is covered with wall to wall carpeting. Of course, you have to have a way to figure where to put them. I used a very powerful magnet hanging from a thread to locate existing floor deck nails. Also used Bosch stud finder. Complex process but pays off with more pleasant living environment.
