I purchased this Back protector insert for my AlpineStars motorcycle jacket. I feel safer wearing it. When installed in the jacket, it doesn't add much weight. You can barely tell its there. Comfortable, breathable. Hopefully it will never have to protect me in a crash. But if I crash it will be there for extra protection to save my back.

Never goes wrong with Alpinestars

Lightweight, flexible and low profile. Bought it for peace of mind; can't put a price on how well your back is protected in the event of an accident. Bought two, but I own three A*s jackets, one of which has a forcefield back protector installed that is quite heavy and thick, so I'll probably buy another at some point to swap it out. In pictures, this back protector may appear to have a solid back, however, the back of the protector is actually a thin mesh which allows it to flow air nicely.All in all, its a great option and addition to any motorcycle jacket that will accept a back protector in my opinion.

This is lightweight and flexible, more so than other similarly rated armor I have used. You don't feel like you're riding around with a 3/4" piece of plywood in your jacket. I got this for a Joe Rocket XL jacket and fits just fine. To make things better, compared with other CE 1 rated back armor, the price is very reasonable.

Of course this is an exact fit for my Alpinestars jacket. Lightweight and quality feel. Really comfortable, can't even tell it's there

I bought the Nucleon XR-Celli (size Large) for my Alpinestars T-Faster mesh jacket (size XL) because the basic jacket doesn't come with any padding for the back. The installation was very easy because the Nucleon was made for Alpinestars jackets. It took about 30 seconds to insert the back pad into the mesh receptacle on the interior back panel of the jacket.Overall, the pad is unobtrusive and doesn't take up much space in the jacket, but it does add a little weight. The latter is a small price to pay for the added protection. On the road, I didn't notice it at all while riding. Basically, you will know that the pad is there while just walking around in it.I can't give testimony about what kind of protection the extra padding offers, nor do I have an overwhelming desire to test that feature out. One thing I do find a little odd is that Alpinestars offers many different models of this pad, all at different prices. In my mind, it should be one-stop shopping for all, offering ultimate protection. To contrast that, my Cortech Tourmaster didn't have options for different armor with the jacket -- it came with a full set built in. I just feel that the maximum safety of the rider should be the goal with a product like this pad.

I bought a large for my size 44 US or 54 Eur. It seems to fit perfectly in my jacket. Just be sure to install it correctly in the pouch inside the zipper area.
