Clicker Klik1U Universal 2-Button Garage Door Opener Remote

Works and was able to re-code it easily to my 2015/2016 Sears Craftsman garage door openers. Somehow, I lost the original opener (which I didn't really care for in the first place). The original came with three (3) large buttons. I have two (2) garage doors. The outside lights are on a photo sensor so they come off and on automatically with the daylight (or lack thereof). I really did not see the point of having a larger garage opener with an additional button that I would probably never use. This Chamberlain model works great.....coded "one" for the larger door and coded "two" for the smaller, single garage door. The directions are pretty straight forward and was easy to pair with my Sears Craftsman units. Total time was maybe 5 minutes.....remember that you are coding these remotes to the actual motor drive unit that is above the car (not the wall unit by the house/inside door and light switch). You may have to carefully take off the clear/white shroud that covers the light bulb(s) to access the fuse box and "learn" buttons. Like almost all remotes, this one too comes with a visor clip for ease of use and a quick reach. The overall size of this is about half the size of an Apple iPhone 5. Without the visor clip, it is small enough to fit inside your shorts pocket or jeans/pants pocket if you wanted to take it with you during a walk/jog or bike ride away from your house. Most likely, I will be ordering a couple of more (as spares), just in case.

I purchased this remote for two Chamberlain garage door openers and ditched all the wiring and switches installed in the garage. Using Velcro, I attached two strips on the back of the Clicker universal remote, then stuck it to the wall by the door entering the house from the garage. The back of the remote is flat, so it sets against the wall perfectly. What's nice is, if anyone needs to use it, they can just pull it off the wall. The Velcro peels apart and the remote can be carried or placed in a pocket (it's small). When you come back, just press the Velcro back on the strip on the wall. The remote comes with a clip that can be slipped into the back of the case. If you intend to use this in your car, for example, it can be easily used for that. The clip enables it to be placed on your sun shade or any other place in your car. Programming was a snap! I purchased this particular remote because it's made by Chamberlain. I have two Chamberlain garage openers. One is only a few years old. The other is at least twenty years old. I was concerned whatever remote I bought wouldn't work with the older opener. This remote worked perfectly! It identified the other opener, which the instructions stated was built between '93 and '96. The instructions are easy to follow, and I didn't have any problem trying to figure out how to program it. It took about ten minutes to program the remote for both openers. Programming is accomplished by either setting DIP switches inside the remote or pressing buttons on the remote along with the Learn button on your opener. Since I had Chamberlain openers, I just had to press the opener's Learn button and program the remote using the remote buttons. The process is fairly simple, and the instructions explain it well. The remote uses a common 2032 battery, which is easily found in drug stores, grocery stores, big-box home improvement stores, etc. Not only do I recommend this remote, but I've *already* done so with a friend of mine.

I had to already return another remote that was supposedly universal for all Liftmaster garage door openers. Ultimately I had to call Chamberlain support to find out what remote would work with their equipment, because nowhere could I find anything about one working with a blue learn button. It is all purple, red/orange, green in instructions out there. The first customer service rep I spoke with was no help, because she kept insisting that according to the FCC ID I was giving her off the opener, the remote for the red/orange button should work. Kept telling her I already had that one and was returning it because it in fact does not work with blue learn buttons. Thankfully she either hung up or the call was dropped and she couldn't call me back (her story), because when I called back and asked for a supervisor I found someone who actually helped me. He was able to tell from a different ID on the opener that I had to follow instructions as if I had a green learn button. Turns out the blue button openers where something of an anomaly. This product arrived today, and in under a minute I had it programmed. (Press program button on remote and hold until LED lights on it; press learn button on opener; press desired opening button on the remote, out of the 2 available, the correct number of times, depending on the color of your learn button -- see chart included with clicker -- then press program button on remote again to end the process. Finit!) Works like a charm. Even will open the garage when I'm in the house. Definitely opens it once I reach my drive. I haven't tried a greater distance because I have an alarm I only disarm once I'm in the drive, and can't open the garage door until I turn off the alarm anyway. So perfect for me. I guess some people complaining about distance of transmitter want to never slow down, opening the door a block away then cruising right into their open garage. I think that's a bit of a security risk. Wait until you can at least see your garage door and verify no one is lurking outside waiting to go in before you open the door, would be my suggestion. But if you don't care about that and just want to not have to pause at all on the way in, possibly this remote won't have enough distance for you. Again, I don't know because it has worked at every distance I've tried. Just going off the complaints of others on that one.

Now that I got the clickers working I can rate them as good products... they certainly do their job so I'm a happy camper. I have a 2-car garage and each garage door has a different brand opener (one is a Chamberlain and the other is an Overhead Door Legacy). I had 2 issues with these clickers (both issue involving the Overhead Door Legacy opener) but both issues were eventually resolved: Issue #1: Setting up my clicker I could NOT get the OD Legacy to recognize the remote. I tried for quite a while, stopped, researched online, printed old manuals, tried some more. Nothing worked. Then, I forget where I read it, but I glanced a hint that sometimes you need to be a certain distance from the opener when setting up a remote. So as a last-ditch effort, I tried stepping further away from the OD legacy opener, went through all the motions, and low and behold, it worked! So the whole time it was basically my fault I couldn't set it up because I was too close to the opener. And though this is not the product's fault, I do think it's probably a common enough issue because in my research I read about so many others whom had trouble with setup as well, and I wondered just how many of them were standing too close to their openers as well? Probably a lot of them... so you would think an issue so common would be highlighted more boldly, more visible in the manual right up front so people become truly aware of the importance of keeping a moderate distance during setup. Issue #2: We mount our remotes to our visors, and we were having a problem with the OD Legacy opener not recognizing the remotes until you were so far up the driveway and close to the garage, like 15 feet away form it. So we would have to pull up the driveway and then come to a full stop and sit there and wait for the garage door to open, rather than being able to open it from a good distance away so you could pull right in without losing momentum. Not a big issue, but still one of those peeves. But then we discovered if we lowered the visor down a bit on the approach then the OD Legacy would recognize the remote from a good distance, so problem solved! Now all is well. But still, I attribute this to be in part kind of a weak RF signal emanating from the remotes in general, in that they really need an uninhibited, direct line of site to the openers in order to work from a good distance. All in all products work well, but the little things here make me rate it a 4 star only.

This is very easy to program and comes with a guide to program many different types of garage door openers. I love the fact that it has the clip to hook to the visor of the car for easy access when pulling up to the house. We had two remotes and broke one so I purchased this as a replacement. About 3 days later I ordered another Clicker for my truck! I find this remote to function better than the original that came with the opener when installed just over a decade ago. + Price + Easy Setup + Detailed Instructions + Battery Included + Clip Included to hook to visor etc. + Stays Programmed _Bottom Line_ Yes, I would recommend this remote to a friend looking to replace a lost/broken or even outdated remote opener like I did. Can be programmed to many different brands and works great. I do not find range to be an issue as other reviewers have noted. I have it clipped to the visor and it seem to work fine for me. I click the button on the way up the street and it's open when I pull in. Can't go wrong here, easy 5 stars!

I read the reviews before I purchsed this product, as I almost always do. Everyone has different experiences, and you kind of have to go with the majority and hope you are not in the minority. So, I was concerned about set up, and since I had an older Wayne Dalton unit (1999) I was afraid it may have problems. Well, I could not do the auto set up and had to resort to dip switches, and pressing the button so many times until it worked. There is only one set on dip switches on the Chamberlin, and I have the two door clicker, so that seemed to be a problem, but not. Set the dip switch for one door, click the left button until the door opens (you don't have to worry about how many times, just keep clicking, and the door will open.) Then one door is programed. Re-set the dip switches again, then press the right button several times until the other door opens. That side is programmed. Do read the instructions, because there is something you have to do after the door opens that "sets" the program, I just can't remember what it is. Anyway, much easier than anticipated. As far as the distance from the door before it opens the door is just a matter of whatever, "cosmic interference?" Sometimes just before I pull into the driveway (50%) end of the driveway (30%) 10 feet from the door (20%) This is basically the way the original unit worked. I was going to give this only 4 stars, because that's just the way I am, but what the heck, it was easy to set up, works well and the price was very reasonable, less than the rest, so why not 5 stars.

The remote itself works wonderfully. It was very easy to program to my opener and works very reliably (albeit with the standard 'short reception range' complaint heard in many of the reviews here -- it generally doesn't work until I'm at the end of my short driveway). The problem comes in if you have anyone around your house with a Genie opener! A week after getting this remote I noticed that my garage door was wide open when I'd get home from work a few times a week. Confounded, I would just close the door without thinking about it (I don't keep anything in my garage). This continued for around two months until my neighbor knocked on my door and asked if I noticed that the door was open occasionally. When I answered in the affirmative, he said "I think we're opening your garage door". A few trials later, and his thoughts were confirmed. The worst part? Both of our garage door openers are just old enough that the codes cannot be reset. He called Genie and I called Chamberlain, just to be left with disappointment. Apparently there's nothing I can do except for replacing my garage door opener, as the history of remotes can also not be removed from the unit. Technical note/reason: Older Chamberlain openers used a rotating frequency, which basically has a set number of constant bits (let's say 10 1s or 0s that are *always* the same), and a few rotating bits (probably 4-6 that can rotate). The arithmetic that is used to calculate what those rotating bits can be decides how they're set when making the connection, but since the rest never change it means the possibilities of different combinations is only around 16 (assuming 4 bits -- 64 if there are 6). Whatever the case, at times the neighbor's remote rolls onto the same frequency, causing my garage door to rise. At this point it cannot be stopped or reversed, since the code has now been stored into memory. Synopsis: If you have an older Chamberlain opener that you plan on using with this remote, be aware. You might want to look for an alternative solution!

This dual remote is working fine for me. It's nice to have one remote for both home and work electric gate systems. Programming can take a bit only because you have to push the clicker button many times to reach the brand code for the gate/garage door. Once you get it programmed, that's it though. FYI: after each push of the button, always wait until the light stops flashing (there are a different number of flashes after each button push) otherwise you may confuse/interrupt the programming process and you will have to start over again. Good remote reasonably priced. UPDATE: After using this remote now for a couple of months, I find that the buttons do not always operate properly, i.e. when depressed, there is not a connection (light does not illuminate) and it does not transmit a signal to the receiver. I may have to push the button a couple of times before it will operate. I have an old (full-size) clicker remote which works great all the time. I wanted the same in a smaller version...Unfortunately, I also got smaller performance.

The instruction that come with it are very easy to use even in the case of an older system that needs to be programmed manually. It's been working flawlessly for the last couple of years.

Moved into a house that was missing the remote to the garage door opener. I normally use the built in door opener buttons in my car, but I needed a working remote to program the car buttons. I was able to program this to work with the existing Craftsman 139.18452 door opener with little fuss and in turn this remote worked for programming the HomeLink buttons in my car and van.

Amazing! Yes expensive, but having two garage doors and both on two different makes (inherited from previous owners) I really didn't want my wife fumbling around two different openers, having one just made sense. In terms of the setup, well, it was almost as quick as opening the package itself. Having a chamerlain and craftsman, the setup was the same, both on Red learn buttons. All in all, came quick, packing was secure and configuration was a breeze! If you're like me with two/multiple garage opener makes, this is definitely the way to go.

Works good, extremely easy to program with opener which had learn button, took under 5 minutes, range isn't the best of the openers I've had but is adequit, 30-50' approx range for me.
