My favorite Mate...
I have been drinking Mate for 5 years now, and have recently discovered this mescla (mix) of mate and herbs that has such a wonderful flavor. The flavor is a bit smoky (thought the mate isn't smoked) due to the herbs in the mix (fennel, pennyroyal, coriander, mint, chamomile). It isn't very strong, either, which allows me to drink this pretty much all day long without feeling 'spun out.' My two complaints: that there is a lot of very fine powder that definitely will clog the bombilla if not sifted out; Amazon's price for this is way too high...a local Italian grocer sells the same size for $5.50. Highly recommended.

get a fine mesh strainer or the traditional straw (or both) to keep floaties out
This has good flavor, i like it with a tsp of sugar, i'm not sure the traditionalists would agree with that add on, but for my taste it was really good. I'll buy again in the future. I'm not sure that its an overall coffee substitute, but it tastes better than coffee, and you don't have coffee breath

This is strong, but has a nice flavor. It does have a lot of fine particles that make it through the bombilla though. Because of this I skip the traditional way of drinking and turned to actually brewing it like one does with tea. This works well and actually produces a much better flavor.

Mucho Polvillo, Re Acido... Nada que ver
La mayoria de los reviews son yankees, no saben bien. Te aseguro, la cantidad de polvillo que hay es increible. Ademas te deja un acidez de ptm. No lo recomiendo.
