Amazing...
I was skeptical of all the youtube videos and other information found about this stuff. I used it on an in-frame moped gas tank. The moped sat for over 10 years and the inside of the tank ended up rusting a bit. I bought 1 gallon of this stuff and let it sit in the tank for about 40 hours or so. I probably didn't have to, but the instructions only said not to leave it soaking for longer than 48 hours.I drained it by removing the petcock from the moped frame and it drained beautifully. I used a flexible light to check down into the tank and it was sparkling clean again! I was so amazed! I bought an in-line fuel filter for in between the petcock and carburetor and it is clean so I can see the fuel pass through. It's nice and clean!I took the Metal Rescue that I had drained from the tank and dropped in an old rusted monkey wrench that was frozen solid along with pair of piiars that were frozen/rusted tight. I checked them the next afternoon and they worked just fine as well. The information on the label says it will dissolve up to 1/2 pound of rust. I believe it. I'm also surprised how far 1 gallon will go. I would highly recommend this to someone. I just wish they made it in a gel or something to use on surfaces you can't actually soak.

Great product it does work!
I used this product for two different things, first I tested this on a speaker bracket I found in a junkyard that was lightly rusted put it in something and covered it up after submerging it in metal rescue three hours later perfectly looking brand new! I washed it off dried and painted like a brand new product!.Second thing I used it for is the cooling system in my 87 camaro. The car sat up for 12 years and the cooling system was just full of rust, the motor is from an 76 camaro which you can imagine the amount of that that must have accumulated, after flushing with water around 10 times running the car and doing it again I was getting no where, bought this filled up the system ran it to get the tempt up and had the car sit for 2 days drained it out and flushed it two more times to get the product out the system. Crystal clear where before it was so murky with rust it looked like mud in the cooling system. Worked great! After 3 months I'm getting a little residual rust like flakes at the top but still crystal clear water and antifreeze mix!Highly recommend for cleaning a cooling system, as far as people saying this doesn't work for there has tanks there is alot of things you could do to help this process of such as using air to clean out the tank, getting any dirt and such out, when you fill the tank put a cover over it and leave it for a few days dump it out and wash then add more this product works and alot of rust takes time to eat away.

Great, Did the Trick
As the subject title suggests, this products worked well for me. I followed the instructions and keep it at the right temperature. In addition I acknowledged that some things would work in a few hours and others needed to soak overnight. This product removed all the rust on my automobile parts. However, DO NOT BUY the advertised Dry Coat product that Metal Rescue suggests. It DID NOT WORK for me and all the products started re-rusting immediately. As such, I reused Metal Rescue (which again worked well), and painted and primed the products as needed instead with great results. I recommend this product for most rust issues, though perhaps not extreme cases. Remember, it is not naval jelly, so you need to soak the rusted parts for extended periods of time, at the correct temperature, and in a plastic bin (buy separately since plastic does not react with it).

Works, but not inexpensive
I have used this product several times. Works really well to remove rust from old hand tools. Finally decided to take care of some old chisels, pliers, and misc barn hardware. The first batch comes out beautiful, then as the product ages, the next batches will take longer and longer until it no longer is able to do its cleaning. I had to deduct one star because it seems pricey for its extremely limited lifespan, but I would buy it again, because it works so well.

This stuff really works!!
I was very sceptical when I opened this product. It looks like water and has no chemical smell at all. How does it work? I donโt know, but it really does. I bought it to clean a 2 gallon fuel tank on a portable Miller welder that had about 1/2โ of rust in the bottom and the rest of the tank was also covered in rust (inside). Because it was so thick inside the tank I actually purchased 3 gallons at different times and poured in 1 gallon at a time to let it soak. There was so much rust inside that I had to pour everything out and start with a new batch. This is a 30 year old welder and the tanks are not available anymore. I got 95% of the rust out after 3 doses by rotating the tank every day for about 3 days / batch to soak all sides of the inside of the metal. What little rust left inside the tank is minimal and shouldn't be a problem because I plan to use an inline filter. Great product. Very impressive!!!

Used it for years, never disappointed
I've restored a few old motorcycles and this is liquid gold. It really works and the best part is it's easy to work with, isn't dangerous, doesn't smell, and just does tons of work with any effort. I used to spend hours removing rust by hand. All you need with this is patience. Just soak anything for 24 hours and it's like magic. A lot of the time the part is ready to be bolted right back on. It's saved some pretty awesome rare gas tanks for me, too

Woah!
Can't believe how well this stuff works. I had a bench of handtools from a collapsed shed that had sat through a couple years of rain. These things were trash.. I mean they looked like they came from the bottom of the ocean. Pliers, dikes, 3 wratchets, a D ring clevis, etc. Soaked them for a week, pulled them out tonight and couldn't believe it. They didn't just look like the rust had been cleaned or grinded off.. they looked like they had never been rusted. Seriously. To give some examples, pliers that were frozen shut, how work like they did when they were new. Even a small spring that couldn't be seen through the rust in the hinge of a set of needle nose, works and shows zero signs of crunchiness or rust. Wratchets that were so rusted that I couldn't read the writing their handles, actually work. The rust bath hot into all of it. The only lasting effect I noticed was that the metal on all of the tools seem darkened but again, looked like they've never been rusted. Rubber handles were completely unaffected, no fade in color or texture. They needed a heavy cleaning andleaked quite a bit of pitch black leftover rust bath but after a spray down with parts cleaner and a wipe down, they look outstanding. I'm gonna need to do some before and after pics with the next batch, for sure.

Maybe this product works for removing rust from paperclips, but for actual work this product has yielded no significant results.
I've been soaking a motorcycle gas tank (that sat for ~4 years) in this product for 8 days and it is STILL not effective in removing rust from the inside of it. I have varied heat (both sunlight and artificially), varied position, have shook the gas tank to move around the product, and there is STILL visible rust buildup patches all over the inside of the tank.I pressure-washed the tank before-hand to remove substantial serious patches so this isn't an absorption issue. I fully let the tank dry. I pre-heated the tank before application. I've let the product sit for over 3 days straight and have seen no difference in topical rust. I will never buy this product again. You're better off with a more serious caustic acid or industrial stripper. This "Metal Rescue" should have a "safe for infants" sticker on it as it does nothing.
