Ramcat Mechanical Broadheads (Cage Ripper)

Could use minor updates!
Shot an elk last night here in Utah with the cage rippers, it was a double lung/ heart shot. Now I loved the design of the broadheads, but they have some minor flaws. While I was hiking with them, the hex head screw that holds the concave tip kept unthreading itself. I screwed it back in probably twice in just over a mile. If that screw we’re to fall out, I’m sure it’d make the Broadhead useless. Only other problem then that is that it rattles. It did do the job though, it deployed as soon as it hit the cage. I did not get a full pass through like I did with the hydroshocks on the same shot placements. It seemed to fly true, if they could fix these things I’d definitely shoot them. Maybe they’re not so great for elk, but it did the job with a big blood trail like usual! I’ve always loved ramcats, we’ve always had good success with them. So I’ll try to find a way to fix these other cage rippers to accommodate my needs!

Definitely worth it.
I had my doubts about them being only double blades... But was I wrong. Shooting them out of a Killer Instinct Crossbow at over 410 fps and they are by far the best broadhead I've used in 40+ years. Double lung or a little back I saw every Deer drop. The accuracy is that of a field tip. My daughter actually took her first whitetail with it and couldn't believe how good the combination of bolt, broadhead and bow worked.

Great product
This product out performed my expectations. They fly very accurately and penetrate great as well. They are fairly sharp straight out of the pack and I am ready to see the damage they will do in the field!

No blood trail - Failure to open?
Shot a nice buck at 20 yards with a 390 FPS crossbow and watched the arrow go behind the shoulder. No blood trail, not a drop of blood and I lost the deer in a marsh. I don't believe that these always have time to open on a fast bow. I should have known better after having them not always open on "The BLock", but thought they would work better on live game. After my lost buck I went and bought some Muzzy fixed blade Trocar's and shot a buck a week later and he dropped in 50 yards. Save yourself the heartache and skip these Cage Rippers.

Don’t waste your $$$$$
These things are trash. As previous reviewer wrote the set screws that hold plunger tips on and the blade reset screw come out. Blades get stuck in closed position, and won’t release with out breaking blades. Save your money and go with a better broad head. I

They work as advertised.
Have 2 down in the 2020 season, both were double lung shots. One made it 75 yards the other 15. No complaints, they just work.

Great broadhead and enjoying this product.
Been using this with some target practice and was very impress of impact. Not sure if they have tools to reset the broadhead and replacement blades. Otherwise, it does what describe on the site.
