The Business Idea Factory is an effective and easy-to-use system for creating successful business ideas. It is based on 10 years of research into idea-generation techniques used by the world's best scientists, artists, CEOs, entrepreneurs and innovators. The book is entertaining to read, has plenty of stories and offers bits of wisdom necessary to increase the quantity and quality of ideas that you create multiple times. Once you begin applying strategies described in this book, you will create successful business ideas regularly and make your life more adventurous. You will realize that there are few things that can bring as much joy and success in business as the moment when an excellent idea comes to your head. Review: How to Develop the Habit of Creativity - Andrii Sedniev has filled this sharp book with powerful creativity principles and ways to use the subconscious mind as a tool for creating strategies and to generate ideas. It’s about developing the creative muscle using simple principles for creating new ideas for your business. There are numerous exercises to facilitate this and how to think differently than competitors. This intelligent book explains the science of effective brainstorming and describes how to let the subconscious mind know what it is that you want and need so that it can generate unlimited, amazing, creative ideas to help you with your business. Brainstorming is simply placing your attention on a problem so that your creative mind can do the rest. I learned that often the reason we can’t come up with a successful business idea is because we are asking the wrong question and that by changing or even just altering the question a little bit, the subconscious mind will be able to generate a variety of ideas. The author describes how to let the subconscious mind know what it is that you want and need so that it can generate unlimited, amazing, creative ideas to help you. In other words, this book explains the science of effective brainstorming, or placing your attention on a problem so that your creative mind can do the rest. The author states, ‘The only way to make the brain think hard and produce world-class ideas is to make it generate a lot of ideas.’ He explains how important it is in creating new ideas to learn how to generate tons of them to choose from. This can be done, for example (one of many), by modifying old ideas that have been used before by actively, continuously seeking new experiences to draw from. Author Sedniev reminds the reader that more creativity and many more creative ideas come to lighthearted, not serious people. This book provides thinking techniques that really work for getting your subconscious to generate ideas for you and to develop the “creativity habit.” I was inspired by the stories of innovators who failed repeatedly before becoming successful and by the suggestions for creative thinking practices that significantly increase the number of creative thoughts as well as their quality. I was especially inspired by the concept of creating thousands of questions about how to carry out every task involved with my business (I teach fine art). Also, that if I can’t find a solution for one of these tasks, I’m truly not asking the right question and should alter or change it. By doing this, I can even change the quality and quantity of the successful ideas I come up with by putting my subconscious mind to work. Obviously, I have to take action to get more business and by trying this particular technique, I have already come up with some great ideas for promoting my own business (I teach fine art) that I hadn’t considered before. Using some of the steps delineated in this book, I split some of the problems I’ve been having in this area (promoting myself) into smaller problems by asking questions. Then I split all the tasks I came up with into specific things to do. I also learned that switching between problems gives the subconscious lots of fodder to enhance its idea production. Now I have an actual plan that I’m following and it was so simple to create! Naturally, since this system worked for my business, I am going to start using it to solve everyday problems as well. The genius of this book is the simple-to-understand instructions for putting the subconscious mind to work to obtain results that can be used. This easy-to-follow book is an essential handbook for idea creativity. I don’t just recommend it for people who are entrepreneurs, but also for creative artists and writers. Review: Some quirky sections, but overall a good read. - This is a fairly interesting book with several good ideas for generating new ideas. Not all of the techniques will work all the time, and as some other reviewers have pointed out there are some strange techniques such as drinking a glass of water a certain way before bed. The objective of the book isn't to teach a technique that generates a perfect idea - the objective of the book is to teach people ways to generate many many ideas and then determine which of them is a great idea. The main point the author tries to make is that great ideas are a percentage game, more ideas overall leads to a higher chance that one of those ideas is great. As the author says in the last section, reading this book won't automatically give you great ideas, but it will give you the tools to come up with great ideas if you put these practices to work in your daily life.

Some quirky sections, but overall a good read.
This is a fairly interesting book with several good ideas for generating new ideas. Not all of the techniques will work all the time, and as some other reviewers have pointed out there are some strange techniques such as drinking a glass of water a certain way before bed. The Factory is Open for Business
This book came at exactly the right time for me and hopefully it will do the same for you. I’ve been reading about a book a day (admittedly sometimes two, to two and a half) because I’ve been struggling with my own work, or lack thereof and while I call it research really it’s a great distraction. In fact, I was thinking when I picked up this book, recommended by a friend, that I’d thumb through it, find a few gems, hopefully, put it down and move on without a second thought. What I got instead was a manual for success with easily workable techniques to remind me to shut off my inner critic and allow the creative process to take place and have the faith that it will. It’s for this reason, the inspiration it provided me, that I can happily recommend this book to you. Maybe you’re in a similar situation and you’re at your desk day in and day out toiling away looking to hook the next big idea. Fishing, like being creative, is a game of skill and patience. It’s important to read the small signs others overlook and to have the faith that the current will bring in the big one, but occasionally, and thankfully, as this book illustrates so well, you get to practice reeling in the small ones first. This is the mantra of this wonderful guide to understanding the bigger picture. I’m excited to have read this book and I’m even more excited to share it with others. I must and can get back to working on my own projects, but I feel it was time well spent refilling my well with a well-written work such as this. This works for creativity as well as for business and when your business is creative, as most are, you’re all the better off for imbibing from the universal flow. Of course this may mean my book-a-day reading habit may slow down a bit, and it’s a fun pastime don’t get me wrong, but time passes so fast it’s important not forget why we’re here in the first place and this book smacked me right on the noggin with a friendly reminder and for that I’m very thankful.

The True Power of Ideas
This book really encourages you to unlock the true power of your own ideas! The $100 hour exercise really did get me generating some great ideas...before reading this book I would have discarded most of the ideas deeming them as too unrealistic or unobtainable, but Andrii has really taught me that the only thing that makes our ideas unobtainable is our own pessimistic outlook. All of the concepts presented in this book really are capable of making you a successful business entrepreneur if you apply them correctly. I like the fact that the book addresses not only the generation of ideas but how to ask the right questions to generate ideas that will actually bring results. For me, one of the most useful concepts was breaking down tasks into small components. By breaking down a seemingly difficult task into smaller subtasks you can actually see clearly what actions you would need to take to achieve the overall task. It seems simple but many people don't apply this concept when working on an important task, which is often why they give up! This concept really makes nearly any task seem obtainable. Start small and work your way up the pyramid! Overall this book has been an incredible tool that I would highly recommend to anyone. It's not just for business professionals or entrepreneurs, the concepts in this book can apply to anyone who has a goal or task that they would like to achieve someday, no matter how big or small. This book really teaches you how to think like a successful individual, whether you're looking to start your own business, contribute big ideas to your company, or simply want to educate yourself, this book is a must-read!

If you are an entrpreneur this book should be mandatory reading
This is a great book with great ideas on incubating creativity from which great ideas come. The author did not quote the great Earle Nightengale, a success motivational speaker and author from the 1960's. Nightingale said that succeeding in business was easy. The formula is to come up with 20 new ideas a week. Out of that 20 you might only get one great and helpful idea for improving your business but at the end of the year you would have had 52 new ideas to improve your business. I said all of that to say that this is the kind of advice that the author brings to the table and useful exercises to fertilize your mind. Highly recommended. The reviewer is the author of the new Kindle book entitled: Sex Education for Adults Secrets to Amazing Sex and Happily Ever After Too

A leg-up for us all!
My first impression was ‘impressed’ by the author’s straightforward approach to ‘successful business planning’ by way of examining how we – as human beings – develop and grow into whom we become . . . and why; and I especially appreciated the part about how we as children are encouraged by society to ‘conform’ rather than being allowed to nourish the genius inside, which would cause that individual genius to flourish and grow – and that this demoralizing act by society [in so many words] browbeats the creative spirit into submission – casting an otherwise future ‘Einstein’ into another run-of-the-mill, 9 to 5’er who never realizes his or her true potential. The author, Andrii Sedniev goes on to explain that if we can ‘retrain’ ourselves to embrace our creative side – we will be able to shed societies shekels and reach for and attain the stars! Each chapter of The Business Idea Factory is engineered to bring you from stagnate to successful – and I have NO doubt that an ordinary person, a person like me and you, couldn’t take the well-developed plans discussed here – which are easily set forth – and make a real difference in our lives. I was a bit surprised by ‘the shower’ reference; but it made me think back to the old movie, “Oh, God” with George Burns [of old time radio and TV: Burns and Allen] when John Denver’s character was beset with woes over his encounter with God, and God [in his infinite wisdom] told him to ‘take a shower’; because when we get bogged down, doing a simple task like taking a shower can help clear out the cobwebs, help you focus – center you; and that’s what The Business Idea Factory is all about – helping you get rid of all the crap society has crammed down your throat since you were born – all the crap that’s keeping you from succeeding. Amen to that! I’m not a business person, per say – but after reading this – I believe I could be a successful one!

An absolute gem!
I really didn't expect the book to be this good. The first few chapters contain some really good methods and tips. Later in the book it gets quieter but there is still at least one really valuable takeaway in every chapter. In my opinion the book is really underrated.
