## Questions & Answers

**Q: Would this be left behind in a distillation? ie- distill once, dilute to 50% abv, add carbon and let sit, then distill a 2nd time to remove carbon.**
A: I haven't soaked my charcoal in alcohol to be 100% certain, but this seems to have a fairly high grade of purity and carbon is not alcohol soluble.  So it should stay right in the boiling flask or wherever in the line you decide to put it and not wind up in your distillate.  Good luck!

**Q: Is this an appropriate charcoal for making my own coffeepot water filters?**
A: My guess is that it would work.  It is just activated carbon, pretty much the same stuff that is in a Brittany type filter.

**Q: Is this wood, stone, or coconut carbon?**
A: stone

**Q: How do I use this?**
A: This is used as replacement filtering charcoal in a purifying device that is available. The one I have is about a 2' piece of 1" rubber tubing which attaches to a 5 gallon and has a spigot on the bottom. You fill the tubing with the charcoal and slowly drip your liquid out of the bucket through it.
