Worth the $3
Once you've read The Joy of Less, Miss Minimalist, and that overrated Marie Kondo book everyone swears by, there's not much point in reading/purchasing new content. "New" content is typically redundant because there really isn't anything new to add, and then you get people like Joshua Becker who somehow makes a living by writing the same blog post over and over where he yells at you to sell your car or something else that would be extremely bothersome to go without.Courtney Carver continues to be the standout writer in an internet full of Joshua Beckers. She shares thoughtful dialogues on the mental and emotional aspects of living without excess, commenting on specific concerns that crop up in day to day life but aren't significant enough to address in the "getting started" books. She does not veer off into extremism like many of her contemporaries. She gently guides you to consider the effects of your purchases, your time wasting habits, and even the way you eat on your holistic wellbeing. I think the best audience for this book is minimalists-in-progress who could use a little refresher or some quick inspiration. The concepts aren't hashed out enough for a complete newbie, and the content will likely seem redundant if you're a committed, long term Minimalist who reads 6 different blogs on the topic.

Small actions and listening make a difference
I really enjoyed this book, and recommend it to everyone. I learned that I must stop and think about how my words and actions can come across. Such as, giving help to someone who has not asked for your help. I never realized until reading this book that giving help, or suggestions, to someone without them asking for your help can come across as being judge mental. I never ever looked at it that way, but could understand that to be true, when looking back on my life and having others giving their opinions without being asked and feeling judged. Very insightful book. A book to be read by all.

Surprisingly useful little book on life design
I downloaded this a long time ago, read it, was unimpressed, and then recently re-read it, to be surprised at how useful it is. It’s a summary of how to introduce the most practical life-simplifying techniques, from material decluttering and wardrobe capsules to social activism and habit stacking, into your daily routine. Courtney Carver writes from her own experience with methods she’s tried, and calls on experts for others, with links to more information. This is a useful reference book if you want to know where to begin to get control of your life.

Starting small segues into success ⭐️
Reads like a book of meditation except geared for rushaholics like myself. I breathe in a mini-mission passage then slowly check for how it resonates with my life. This is my second time through this book and I glean more clarity and resolve to stick to my little gains one at a time.

Brilliant, as usual
I read everything I can get my hands on that Ms. Carver writes. She has been my simplicity "guru" ever since I first read "Living in the Land of Enough." If you have any interest at all in the topic of simplicity or minimalism, Ms. Carver's writings are excellent resources. I always feel supported and never judged by her approach - after all, it's a journey, not a destination. This collection is just another list of ways to incorporate simplicity into your life, but has some gems that can be applied easily at any time. I have it on my Kindle and glance at it when I need a motivational boost.

Great quick read
Great tips and advice! I especially liked the no help chapter and it made me think about my behaviour and others. I have made it an objective to listen more and that is a big part of it. I enjoyed this book and may go back to it. The other point was being non judgemental and just giving time food etc

Massive change is unlikely
A short collection of simple tips, perfect for those who are too busy to think. Can be conveniently read and forgotten within a lunchbreak. Two pages are devoted to flossing in the shower.

Nothing amazing. Lots of things you've read online or in other books all collected together. I read it once, haven't been back to it since.

Very good book
Very good in a basic way which is exactly what I needed. Wanted to increase my current limited activity in small steps and this book is helping me to do just that.

Plain speaking and full of nice ideas.
Really good little book. Going back for some re-reads. Has made me think about taking small realistic actions (steps), instead of projecting forward with big ideas that mostly go nowhere.
