good book...
This book took me a little bit to get into. I really liked Weber and Cyrus together. What I didn't like was all of Weber's insecurities. Literally, they lasted almost the entire book. It just didn't make sense to me why he always needed to leave. I knew he thought he wasn't good enough, but it didn't make sense when he would then say love was never our problem. What kept me reading was his relationship with the kids, Cyrus's sister, the interaction at Cyrus's parent's house. I wanted to slap Cyrus's brother for some of the things he said. I wished that Weber could see how much he was needed with them earlier in the book. There was too much focus on him not having a prestigious job.

In one word - Endearing! Weber is everything Cyrus could wish for, Weber just needs to see himself as a prince not just a frog.
The perfect romance story really. Though it was short it had everything anyone could wish for. It was sweet and endearing, it was heart warming, and the only dramatic struggle was actually just in the MCs' head. Weber Yates wanted to belong but he never knew he could find a home and a family with someone like Cyrus Benning. Cyrus already had it all, the only thing he didn't have, and the only thing, the only one, who truly made him happy was Weber, the guy who would rather run away than stay.Weber thinks as himself as the frog Cyrus kissed, but he didn't think he turned out the prince Cyrus repeatedly says he sees in him. They met three years ago, Weber doing a temp job in a ranch, Cyrus the successful neurosurgeon going on a trip with his wealthy friends, but after their first kiss, their first encounter, it was hard for them to let each other go. Yet Cyrus' life is in the big city, and Weber is a bull rider who has no home of his own. He wanders the country from farm to farm, visiting Cyrus whenever he is in the area. For Cyrus it's not enough but their last fight gave him nothing - Weber ran off again not to be heard of again for months. So when Weber finally calls from a payphone saying he's in the area, Cyrus does his best to convince Weber to just wait a bit for him to come take him.Though we only get Weber's POV it's more than enough because everything Cyrus does shows how much he cares for Weber, and yet Weber is worried he isn't worthy, he doesn't have anything to offer Cyrus (except for sex.. they do excel at that..) and he has too much pride to be a "kept man" especially since he thinks the "novelty" would wear off, once he stays with Cyrus long enough for Cyrus to realize he deserves much more.Cyrus is a serious guy, one who doesn't show his emotions and mostly stands aloof. Yet ever since he met Weber he found another part to himself, the silly, laughing and enjoying life Cyrus I'm not even sure HE knew he had in himself. Weber is sweet, he takes care of Cyrus, he is considerate, he is loving. It's not wonder Cyrus feels as though he hung the moon. Weber sees himself differently, having no education or a real occupation, not to mention not having a home (or even a family somewhere) so it takes Cyrus most of this book to make Weber realize he NEEDS him, for exactly who he is.The chance to keep Weber for more than a day or two comes with Carolyn - Cyrus' sister finding herself sans husband and nanny.. Somehow Weber connected with her three children in no time and so she begs him to be their nanny for even a short while until she sort herself out. After giving his word he won't back down which leaves Cyrus enough time to SHOW Weber how much he is important and really essential to him. The kids love him, and it's no hardship for him to care for them. As he tells Cyrus' mother - "I do well with kids and animals. They don't care 'bout the same things adults do". This sentence sums up how Weber sees himself and it broke my heart. Kids see the goodness in him, they don't think about what he does for a living or if he does or doesn't own a house, they care about how he treats them and how he loves them and really that's what Cyrus tries to tell and show Weber all this time that he really doesn't care about ANY of the "material" things, like the kids he sees the genuine, beautiful, kind, caring, loving person he is and that's the guy he wants to keep forever. Weber might be a simply guy, the way he walks around Cyrus' world shows that with every step (it was truly endearing!) but while he is crazy stupid at realizing how much Cyrus loves him and needs him, he has his own kind of smarts. It takes almost forever for Weber to realize that he is loved and truly needed. That he has a value even without a real income or more than a penny to his name but once he does we see this endearing family forming in front of our eyes and it's SO sweet it's the kind to give a sugar rush. Yet it didn't, it was just so damn beautiful. I do apologize for the over use of the word "endearing" for me this one could sum up the whole book and how it made me feel. This is just a short novella but Mary somehow packed so much into it I feel I got a whole story that gave a true HEA, the kind neither Cyrus nor Weber would believe they'll ever have. They got each other, but they both got so much more.HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!Tags: Contemporary MM RomanceMore @ Ultra Meital Reviews.

Scorching, but sweet
Oh, my. I loved this book. Yes, the romance is a bit improbable -- an uneducated, blue-collar wanna-be rodeo star hooks up with an Ivy League big-city doctor on vacation, only to find their connection is hard to leave behind? Hmmm, sure. Don't I wish. But Cy & Weber were so well-drawn, they felt real -- real enough that their improbably love story works, and I was rooting for their HEA from the beginning. If you like stories about rough-and-ready guys with soft hearts, and unlikely couples who beat the odds, I highly recommend this one.

such a sweet read
This is a quick read and so wonderfully sweet. It does a nice job challenging the notions of what makes someone a man and what we value in society.Web is such a great MC. I love his evolution throughout the book. There were a couple things that were thrown out but never explained (why did Cy and his brother need a buffer from their father?) but over all it’s a really sweet family story.

When two hearts beat as one...
Weber Yates has been living his dream as a bull rider for a long time, but as he gets older, he comes to the realization that he can’t do it forever, and his nomadic life has to come to an end. But what’s he going to do to support himself? He’s a very self-reliant guy who’s always depended on himself and no one else. He’s also a very proud and stubborn man.Weber has a rich lover, a neurosurgeon named Cyrus Benning. Cy loves Weber more than life itself, and wants nothing more than to be with Weber forever. But he puts no strings on him, makes no demands, and only takes what he is given. At the same time, neither man is a saint, and they know they have other hook-ups when they aren’t together, since they aren’t exclusive or anything. On his way to a temporary job in Alaska, Weber is passing through Oakland and, on an impulse, calls Cy. Cy talks Weber into letting him pick him up and bring him home. Weber says he can only stay a day or two, because he has to find some work so he can get the money he needs so he can afford to head up to Alaska. But things don’t work out quite as planned, and Weber finds himself staying with Cy for the holidays, caring for his three young nephews, while their mother goes through a difficult time.Caroline’s children love Weber immediately. One of them, Micah, doesn’t speak, following a traumatic event. But Weber has no problem communicating with the boy. When Weber goes with Cy to his family’s home for the holidays, he finds that he’s not the only one who thinks Weber isn’t good enough for Cy, and he thinks maybe it’s time to hit the road, and let Cy have a chance at finding his prince.A friend of mine recommended this book to me and has been urging me to read it. I’m glad I finally did. This was a very sweet, sexy, romantic story, filled with great characters. I’ve never read Mary Calmes before, but I will read more of her books now. She has a very smooth, fluid writing style that pulls you in and hooks you. And it just goes to show that love makes equals of us all.

Wonderful
This book is brilliant. For some strange reason I read this and thought -"ok but no more". I filed it but then about a year later I was so bored and looking for an existing book I hadn't read to death and found this. Even though I remembered it as only ok I was desperate. When I 're read it however it was totally different and I don't know why. I LOVE the MC s here. Weber is just so lovable and the way he jumps straight in to help Caroline and her children is such a joy to read. It's gone from one I thought I would never read again to one I read so often if it was a paperwork it would be worn out. Beautiful love story that will brighten even the worst day.

Beautiful story...
Weber has got to be one of the most sweetest, most beautiful character I've ever had the pleasure to read. he is just awesome but way way too proud. I loved the story and the relationship between Web and Cy but at times I just wanted to shake Weber. However, the story ends with a HEA so all is not lost.Great book and I love the writing style from the author.

Addicted to Mary Calmes books
I have been looking forward to the release of this book for a some time. I wasn't disappointed. One of the main reasons Mary Calmes is a automatic buy for me is exacatly because her characters are vulnerable and sweet and loving. I know what am getting with her style of writing and the way she developes her characters. For me its something i have yet to get tired of. So i will continue to enjoy her books and look forward to the next one. With regards to the book itself i enjoyed it and was engrossed in the way the main character tried to find a way to except the love of a man he thinks is better than him and deserves more than he can offer. It is a heartwarming love story which didn't disappoint.

Nice read
This is a really easy read with the main character being a bit too perfect and there isn't a lot of depth to anything, but if you want an an easy pleasant read this would be ideal
