Only Product that Cleared our Infestation
We had a sudden flea explosion where I am at due to an unnaturally warm winter. We tried everything from the most expensive, name brand topicals, oral medications, bathes, sprays and foams and powders for the floors and furniture and everything in between with no luck -- if anything, it seemed to keep getting worse. My cats had blisters and contact dermatitis from them; it was absolutely horrible and I was terrified they were going to get sick from how many we were finding. We were getting bit, leaving welts on our skin from small, black fleas. I have four cats. Advantage is expensive. Every other big name brand with promises to eliminate them are. I couldn't keep paying almost a hundred dollars for one month's worth of treatments that - did not work-. I decided to give this a try after seeing the reviews, and come on, three treatments per cat for less than one treatment with Advantage and other brands? Of course it felt like a steal, though we went into it cautiously, recognizing that it may not work, as well. We expected a continued battle with fleas. The reviews reflected, "Just one dose and you'll be saved!" and I didn't believe it, but we had no choice -- we had to try something and everything our vets recommended didn't work. I got this. We applied it immediately to all four cats. We waited. I was shocked to see, by the very next day, that my babies were still itching, but it wasn't frantic. They were not yowling, twitching, rushing us to be scratched as hard as I could manage. They weren't climbing me and my roommates for help. The day after, I was going about my business as usual. Except it wasn't usual...because I realized, halfway through the day, that I hadn't been "bothered". No one was rushing me. I wasn't tripping over a tormented cat. I went downstairs to check, and all four were laying peacefully in sun spots, stretched out, and asleep!! ASLEEP!! They had been waking up constantly while being bit. By day three, none of them were itching. We combed through them, removed the dead fleas, and continued on our way. I wanted to see what would happen with the eggs - nothing else had stopped them. Even Advantage did nothing. It has been two weeks and we are not being bitten, the contact dermatitis has cleared in all four cats. Their skin and fur are fantastic, they're all relaxed and at ease again, and we still have two more treatments available if they do come back, and for maintenance. I don't review very often. I don't trust a lot of reviews. But please, please, please do not let the low price fool you -- I am quickly finding that more expensive does not mean higher value. My cats' lives were miserable on every other product. We have spent in the high hundreds on products to help them. We gave up on accepting vet help because they just recommended the same products over and over again and made us feel like we were not doing our best to get rid of the infestation -- regardless of the also hundreds spent on products to keep them off of furniture and carpet. This. Worked. For. Us. It was the ONLY thing that worked. My oldest female is cuddling and happy and at ease again. She was the worst of the four. Her scabs from the bites are healing quickly -- something that wasn't happening due to the constant re-introduction of fleas every week. Please try it. Please.

Works wonders for both of my indoor cats!
These capstar flea tablets for small cats under 25 pounds works great for us. They’re very easy to give because they are so tiny. I can actually get this in my cat’s mouth quite easily and he’s not easy to give medicine to. The pills from what I understand, don’t seem to have any taste. The cat doesn’t seem to mind me putting it in his mouth. Both cats have taken this, and neither one of them seem to be very sensitive or seem to have any side effects. If they are still scratching after the next day, you can give another one safely. I often find I need to give these to the cats after guests who have other animals come over. It never fails, fleas or hitchhikers, and they will hitchhike rides in your shoes, your socks, your pants, even your purse or backpack bag. So these capstar pills are necessary to always have on hand. The ingredients are only 11.4mg of Nitenpyram, so it works well within an hour & they stop scratching. This box is a decent value for the money when they go on sale, since there is only 6 pills in the box. When they’re not on sale, this box is pretty expensive at over $7.50 per pill.

We recently tried the CAPSTAR (nitenpyram) Oral Flea Treatment for our pets, and it has been a game-changer in dealing with flea infestations. It’s perfect for those times when your pets need instant relief, especially if you’re dealing with an active flea problem. Safe and Easy to Administer This treatment is incredibly easy to give to our pets. The pills are small and can be given either directly or mixed with food. Both of our pets had no problem taking it, and it didn’t cause them any distress. The oral formula is safe and gentle, so we didn’t have to worry about harsh side effects. Works Quickly Between Other Treatments While this treatment doesn’t provide long-term flea prevention, it is an excellent quick-fix for an immediate infestation. It works well when paired with a monthly flea preventive to ensure your pets stay flea-free in the long run. It’s perfect for situations when you need fast relief before starting a longer-term flea prevention routine. Great Value for the Price For the results it delivers, the CAPSTAR Flea Treatment is a great value. It’s affordable and effective, especially for pet owners who are dealing with sudden flea issues. It’s effective, easy to administer, and works quickly to eliminate fleas, providing much-needed comfort for your pets. ✔ Pros: Fast-acting, easy to administer, effective, safe for pets ✘ Cons: Doesn’t provide long-term prevention (but works well with other treatments) Would I buy it again? Pricey but appears to work
Just put this on my cat 20 mins ago and indeed, the fleas are jumping off of her outside! they appear to be struggling/dying but to be safe combing her and putting them in water w/ suds. *Heads up: I guess the fleas become very active as the pill begins to work and my poor cat is itching and biting like crazy all of a sudden poor thing : ( but at least she will have some relief with time....pills are very small which is good, I put it into a pill pocket and she actually ate it. I really don't want to put those toxic topicals on her (she has had reactions) and holistic vet agreed w/ me (unless super severe infecstation). Will continue flea combing her daily and find something to help with itching. Will add an update as the days go on.

It works!
I never write reviews, but I’m extremely impressed. I gave this to my cats that have been suffering with fleas and I haven’t seen a flea on them since. (It’s been two days) I put them in a cage for 45 minutes to see if I would see fleas actually falling off of them and within 25 minutes I was seeing fleas dropping and die. When I took my cats out of the cage I combed them with a flea comb and the fleas that still remained were either dead or slow that they wouldn’t jump off of the comb (almost dead) The next day I checked both cats and the one that barely had fleas originally had none on her and the other that was extremely infested had two but they were dead. You’ll have to reuse this product multiple times especially 2 weeks from the last time you give them it because the eggs in your house will hatch and get on your cats. Of course you still vacuum vacuum vaccum everyday to pick up any fleas and larvae you can to make sure that doesn’t happen or minimize it. My cats would not eat the pill on its own so I put it in their Choolip which is a puree treat that they love and they both ate it that way. I highly recommend this product.

URGENT: MONITOR YOUR CAT(S) AFTER GIVING THIS TO THEM!!
I have 5 cats: the 3 oldest are 12, one is 10 and the youngest (Maisie) is 5. They are all indoor cats that I've had since they were kittens, they don't go outside and they're all healthy with no known medical issues. They've been treated with Advantage or Revolution (the liquid on the back of the neck) before but I've never given them flea treatment in a pill form. A good friend of mine recommended Capstar, saying she's given it to her 2 cats for years with no problems and it works great. I dosed all the cats at 10:45 AM on Saturday, April 18 and then just kept an eye on them as I was puttering around doing housework and paying bills. At 2:10 PM, totally out of the blue, Maisie had a Grand Mal seizure! She was sleeping on the cat tree, per usual, and suddenly let out a screech, started flopping around and before I could get to her she fell out of the cat tree to the carpet. There she continued to convulse and shake, froth at the mouth and her pupils were completely dilated. I finally got a blanket around her and then held her in my arms (loosely but enough to make her feel secure) just as her bladder let loose and she peed on me. The seizure lasted about a minute and afterward she was sluggish and confused but otherwise okay. Pupils went back to normal a minute later and then I offered her a treat which she gobbled down. She slept the rest of the afternoon with me keeping a close eye on her. I called the emergency vet and they said since she's acting normal for now to just continue to monitor her but let them know if it happens again. Scared the absolute crap out of me, that's for sure!! I thought omg, omg, I just killed my cat!! I've had cats my entire life and I've never had any of them react to flea meds like this. Long story short, 4 more days went by (I kept an eye on the cats with home cameras while I was at work) and nothing, so I thought the danger was past. Then on Wednesday, April 22 Maisie had another seizure at 7:10 AM, again out of the blue - she'd just had breakfast. The emergency vet said it could take "up to a week" for the meds to leave her system completely. As of today, Sunday April 26, there hasn't been a repeat performance and I'm hoping and praying there never will be again. Maisie seems to be fine with no damage done but only time will tell. I'm not saying anything against Captar - it's been around a long time and plenty of pet owners swear by it (for that matter, my other 4 cats are perfectly fine, no reaction whatsoever) but PLEASE WATCH YOUR PETS CLOSELY AFTER GIVING THEM THIS - OR ANY - MEDICINE!!

Fast acting, killed fleas within 24 hours
I let my 3 indoor cats outside on a whim last week, and a couple days later noticed they began scratching vigorously behind their ears. This isn’t my first rodeo, I needed to act fast. Their skin was being irritated by flea bites. I bought a few boxes of these tablets after reading Amazon’s reviews. The tablets are smaller than my pinky nail. I crushed one tablet up for each cat and put it in their wet food, except for one cat who HATES wet food, so pressed the crushed-up tablet powder it into a small ball of soft cheese. None of my cats noticed it in their food at all. I spotted some dead fleas in their bedding within 24 hours. It really does work impressively fast. But be advised, they make it very clear on the packaging and in the instruction booklet that these tablets ONLY kill adult fleas. But honestly, getting rid of those adults fast is such a great improvement for the cats health. They are no longer scratching or irritated. To take care of any flea eggs and larvae, I separately purchased the topical ointment. I also washed bedding and treated carpeted areas and furniture with pet friendly flea killer to nip the whole problem in the bud. Done and done!

I Watched Fleas Fall Off My Cat in Real Time and It Was Both Horrifying and Magnificent
My two indoor cats somehow acquired fleas. I had no idea until the scratching became impossible to ignore and a flea comb confirmed my nightmare. I ordered Capstar immediately, and the results were fast enough to be genuinely startling. Within 30 minutes of getting the tablet into both cats (hidden in a spoonful of wet food, worked perfectly), they were doing what I can only describe as the flea awareness shuffle: slightly agitated, moving around, giving me confused looks. This is normal and brief. What followed was watching dead and dying fleas surface and fall off the fur over the next hour. It is equal parts gross and deeply satisfying. One tablet kills over 90% of adult fleas within six hours of administration. That is not marketing language, it is accurate to my experience. The relief was visible and immediate. Important context every buyer should have: Capstar only kills adult fleas currently on the animal. It does not kill eggs, larvae, or prevent reinfestation. Each dose lasts approximately 24 hours. For a full flea protocol, you will want to pair it with a monthly preventative and treat your home environment as well. Think of Capstar as the emergency first strike, not the complete solution. Tablets can be given as often as once daily during an active infestation, which is genuinely useful. Administration is easy once you figure out your cat's preferred method of deception, whether that is wet food, cat broth, or a pill popper. The six-dose pack gives you enough for a meaningful treatment window. Highly effective for what it does, and vet-recommended. Keep it in the cabinet before you need it.
