Amazingly, it worked
My several-year-old Samsung Gear S3 Frontier watch battery was finally on its last leg. It was so memorized that it would only power for about 8 hours. I thought about buying a new watch but I noticed that I could buy this complete replacement battery kit, tools included, for less than $25 all in, and I thought, what the heck. Plus I'm cheap so there's that. It's nice that there is an instruction pamphlet too, but really, there are any number of Youtube videos on how to replace the battery that are more helpful. It wasn't hard to disassemble the watch but you have to go slow and be careful because the ribbons are very thin and if you break one you're dead in the water. Being very careful I was able to preserve the super-thin gasket that keeps the case water resistant, so hopefully the reassembled watch will not die the first time it gets a few drops of water on it. The entire operation took a couple of hours. But I'm sure if I had to do it again it would go much faster now that I know how it works. And the result was near-miraculous. Suddenly I seem to have a new watch. I only used 20% of a full charge on the first day of wearing it. I'm not expecting this to last another three years but if it gets me a year, it will be a win. Overall, the product is good. The battery works, the correct tools are there, and it came pretty darn quickly considering there's a pandemic on.

Watch a how to video online first to ensure you are prepared to do the install.
The install takes a little bit of doing and the parts are small so youโll want to be careful not to pull any crucial wires out or lose any of the tiny screws. After complete you can charge fully and so far it has been working and still at 90% power after almost an entire day. Seems to be a winner!

A Micro-surgical Transplant Success!
I will give this product and my S3 both 5 stars! But please read on... I really like my Samsung S3, I wear it almost everyday and everywhere I go. Some of my favorite features include music control, heart-rate monitoring, the altimeter and seeing messages real-time without ever touching my phone. So my S3 Frontier is ~30 months old now and battery life was down to about 6 hours on a good day. After some quick searches I came to the conclusion it was time for a new battery. I ordered this battery kit, since it looked like a pretty good deal: a new battery and tools to open my watch. However, be warned that your S3 is not a consumer-serviceable product. I have good eyes, steady hands and consider myself above-average technically inclined. I've burrowed deep into my Jeep engine to replace an oil-pressure switch, installed a transfer switch to my house's electrical supply and I've pieced together many computers. All child's play compared to swapping out batteries for this watch. I thought I was going to destroy my watch during the process of replacing the battery. The instructions (and available YouTube videos) are a great start, but downplay the challenge. The screws are hard to turn without stripping the heads. The tiny FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) cables are almost impossible to work with. And the threat of ESD damage to your watch is daunting while performing the transplant. Yes, I managed to do it. I powered the watch up briefly before reassembling everything, since I was worried I damaged or miss-aligned one of the micro FPC cables. Success! And I closed the patient back up. My battery life is now showing about 60 hours. I'm a happy camper. If you are still planning to proceed, wear an ESD strap, remove dirt build-up from in the screw heads. Take close-ups of how the battery is attached, before removing it. Pay attention to how the FPC cables are attached and aligned. If your 1.5 triangular tool starts slipping (like mine did after loosing the first two screws), grind a millimeter off the tip and it will grab again. Take your time, some steps (like taking the back cover off) will take more force than you think, but it can be done.

Update, one year later
Update September 15, 2022. Battery life has greatly decreased in one year. Will only last roughly 4-5 hours. I will be purchasing another to limp this watch through another year. My Samsung S3 frontier was dying after 4 hours of use. I love this watch, and was frustrated that I was looking at the potential of buying a new one. I found one from Walmart that was refurbished for $99, I almost bought it. I'm glad that I started researching YouTube videos and found that the battery is easily replaced. I bought this knowing that it would probably be an intricate task. The swap, including cleaning, took me about 15 minutes to complete. The kit comes with everything you need. I am 3 weeks in and my battery is lasting about a day and a half. This battery is a game changer.

Correct tools
This review will be updated if and when there is some data on the new battery regarding longevity and capacity. It arrived at 62,% charge and after being installed in my R760 and 3 hours on the oem charger ,read 100%. The installation was relatively easy because the tools packed with the batter were of decent quality and were absolutely correct for the case "y" head screws and the motherboard Phillips screws. The plastic spudger and guitar picks were generic and worked. The metal opening tool was too thick and I opened the case using ,initially , a very thin knife blade. A review of youtube installation videos and the package insert instructions made the battery replacement manageable. So far the battery is performing well and it looks like I'll get a least 2 days use without recharge. This is with having fairly continuous drain with always on background wifi and Bluetooth but screen ( mostly) off. The oem battery lasted 4 years with nightly full charging. This time I'll try the charge to 80% discharge to 20% protocol. ( note: my old battery was swollen) Watch works like new and despite an hour without power ( despite bad battery , I kept the watch on the charger - continous green lite) all the settings ,wifi password, etc. were preserved. If I get more than a year on this new battery, I'm happy and will not downgrade the 5 star rating. Update: Got 4 days i.e. 96 hours down to 9% when I recharged. 3+ hours and green light and 100%.

Good product but watch the separation issue
The battery came with the attached power cable, two good screwdrivers of good quality build, a metal separator, and a plastic smudger with two guitar, like plastic separators. Let me caution you right off the bat at the beginning, TAKE NOTE, that the glue that attaches the original motherboard is significant and substantial. Critically important is to DO NOT PUSH any of the plastic or metal pieces in order to separate it without looking to see where the ground contacts are on the motherboard, which are the small little silver pieces in the picture. During the process of prying, the motherboard off, unfortunately, one of the grounding posts was dislodged off the motherboard, and the watch no longer functions with it screen being dark. The battery, however, was easy to install once you pry off the motherboard. The small ribbon cables must be separated gently with the provided pry instruments, from the motherboard (two small and one 1/2โ one connected to the motherboard) preferably the plastic one. Once that is removed, carefully pry the motherboard off of the watch base. Again, be very careful where you put the separator, because you can easily knock the ground posts off the motherboard thus in activating your watch entirely. The product was a good product came well packed, it does everything it says it should, and I highly recommend it be used with a lot of caution. Excellent seller will buy again when the next watch a purchase needs a battery. Lesson learned be careful prying the motherboard.

Affordable kit held back by bad tools
The price was good, but two of the included tools were useless which made the process not go as smoothly. First, the Y screwdriver has too sharp of a point to actually grab the screws. I had to file down the tip before it would actually grab the screws. Also, the metal pry bar for opening the case was too soft and I had to use a sturdier pry tool from a separate watch battery replacement kit I already owned to pry open the case. Once I got past those issues, everything went smoothly. The factory battery had started ballooning so it was definitely toast. After only getting a couple of hours out of the original battery, it's nice having a battery that will last more than a day again.

Great Improvement to My Gear S3 Classic
I have the S3 Classic and was anxiously awaiting an announcement of a Galaxy Watch 2 ( I skipped buying the Galaxy Watch ). My battery on my S3 wasn't making it through the mid-afternoon. When the rumored release of a successor to the Galaxy Watch didn't happen in August, I decided to look at the possibility of replacing the S3 battery. I'm pretty handy but the couple of videos that I saw made it seem as if there were a lot of possibilities for breaking the watch to accomplish this. With my S3 only lasting for a few hours, I decided to try to battery replacement. It arrived the day after I ordered it and came with all necessary tools. The instructions were not bad but it was really helpful to look at a couple of you-tube videos. Prying the case open and then pulling the motherboard away from the chassis were both somewhat difficult as in each case I was pretty sure that I was going to crack something or rip a ribbon cable (note that when you pull the motherboard out it is connected by both the battery cable and another thin and delicate ribbon cable). Although some of the disassembly took a fair amount of force, if you work carefully, they both come free (you also have to be careful when pulling the old battery away from the adhesive that keeps it attached to the watch). Bottom line: After about 45 minutes I had pulled everything apart got the the new battery installed, and the watch booted up and is now working great. After about 15 hours of "always on" use I'm at 55% battery life. The watch is like new again. Assuming that the battery has a good long life, this was a great $21.00 investment for the battery and tools, and actually a fun project. One last bit of advice: When you pull the old battery away from the adhesive pay attention to where the battery ribbon connection connects to the watch. If you're not sure watch you-tube video.

My Watch charges great now!
The battery came with all the tools needed to install it and take hurt the watch. They mistakenly put instructions for replacing the battery for an Apple Watch 4 in the box. Nevertheless I just googled YouTube for instructions on replacing the battery and a couple of great videos came up to guide me. You have to be very careful with four small ribbon connectors but just go slowly. It's like having a new watch again now. I'm sure the battery would last for almost 4 days if I ran it down to nothing! It works so well It's very impressive... Maybe better than the original battery in the watch. Highly recommended, but you have to be very careful in the installation that's not super simple!

Great product and it fixed my inconsistent battery life problem
The kit is perfect. Includes all the tools needed and good instructions. I recommend watching a video on youtube or something the pictures are not great on the instructions. Highly recommend for anyeone having battery issues with their samsung gear s3 classic.

Battery is great. Missing opening tool.
The battery is great and is performing well. The package was missing the opening tool so made the opening of the watch quite hard as I had to pry it with a small screw driver. Everything else was fine, instructions easy to follow, although I complemented them with a youtube video just in case.

Better than expected
Had my S3 for some years now, Battery barely lasting 2 day. Replacement was easy and all the tools were perfect. S3 has 4 days worth of battery now. Back to first day I got it.
