I don't need the other slide functions.** A: Good Evening, I see 2 questions here and I'll try to answer each one separately:- 1) You don't need to plug the pointer into anything. As long as the batteries have been charged (using the USB charger cable) you disconnect this cable and just point at whatever you want and press the button on the pointer to get the green laser-spot. 2) You seem to want to point at a TV screen. Unfortunately, laser pointers (either green or red spots) don't show up very well on TV screens. The spots ARE visible but nowhere near as intense as when you point at a projection screen, or another solid surface. I think it's because a modern TV screen doesn't reflect the coloured spot very well. Laser pointers are really designed to highlight parts of a picture or text that you're displaying when giving a talk using Powerpoint (for example). I hope these answers help. You can see it in any light. - nice neat Bluetooth dongle that sits well in the pointer when not in use. - very easy set up and works every time you turn it on with no issues. - comes in a nice cloth bag to keep it in. - battery life is great. - Build quality is ok but it doesn't feel as sturdy as I had hoped. It does flex a bit. - a bit weird and you do get used to it but the down arrow moves the slide on and the up arrow moves back. Just didn't feel intuitive to me but after a bit you get used to it. You have to tell others about it though if you hand it to someone else.
