My husband and I had been looking for just the right set of flatware to replace our old set, which, after 30 years, had become a bit the worse for wear. This set definitely does not disappoint. First of all, each piece is even prettier in person than they are in the pictures. The satin finish is very simple and very elegant- perfect for everyday use, but "dressy" enough for a dinner party. Second, they feel so nice to hold. They are a nice weight and are well-balanced- you can feel the quality in each piece. Third, after running them through the dishwasher, they held up beautifully. I will say that if you have hard water like I do, you may want to use a soft towel to give them a quick buffing before putting them away, but it took very little effort to make them shine. Mikasa makes a very quality product, and at this price, I would not think twice. We like them so much that we immediately ordered the matching steak knives and can't wait to use them for our Thanksgiving dinner!

Really impressive set of 12 place settings including a couple of serving spoons and whatnot. Great price for what you get. Looks are very polished with beautiful shape and meticulous details. Worth every penny! Might I add that the weight of these utensils is significant, unlike many other brands I have considered. I feel like I got a great deal for a high-end service set.

These are very lovely. I was surprised how heavy the box was. Matt on handles and the top appears polished. Haven’t washed them yet. Husband loves the knife and dinner fork. The teaspoon is short and the soup spoon isn’t as big as my other set but will work good for me. Just have to get use to it. I’ve had Mikasa before and never had a problem with rusting. Nice to have a set of twelve. Very pleased so far, exactly what I’ve been searching for. Feels good in my hand. Love the weight of each utensil and thickness.

We were ready for new flatware, and I did extensive research on options. We were looking for a simple, clean look; a satin finish; and not super expensive. This Mikasa set seemed to fit the bill and had many good reviews, showing up on "best flatware" lists. I really like the look and feel of the pieces. It feels like a real upgrade from my 15+ year old set. However, there are a few issues: 1) Unfortunately small spots of rust began showing up on a couple of knives within 6 weeks. So we have resigned outselves to not putting the knives in the dishwasher. To prevent further rust, we immediately hand wash and dry the knives. 2) The teaspoons are small compared to the larger size of the other pieces. They are short--the length of a coffee spoon rather than a traditional teaspoon. We've gotten used to it, but it would have been great if they were slightly bigger and longer. 3) We got the satin finish in hopes that it wouldn't show fingerprints as much as our old shiny flatware. Unfortunately, that is not the case (and is probably the case for all satin-finish flatware). All that being said, we like them and they are good quality for the price.

Great silverware!! I got Oliver and I absolutely love this set when it came in. I love that it is a full setting for 12 plus the serving pieces. The handles fit nicely into the hand, no matter the size. I like the hammered look on these and that they are not polished. The matte handles make a nice contrast to the polished parts. These are solid with a nice weight and balance to them. I normally wash everything by hand but my kids prefer running the dishwasher. These wash well and are not spotty either way they are washed. I cannot attest to rust resistance at this time as they are still new. Overall I really like these and I am so glad I got them. The price is hard to beat for what you get!

This flatware is truly beautiful. The design is somewhat modern yet somewhat traditional. Just what I was looking for. Compared to the Oneida flatware I purchased in the early 1980's, this is somewhat heavier and larger. That's OK and will just take a little getting used to. The quality of this set is excellent. I would not have thought about buying new flatware, except that as grandchildren have gotten older and volunteer in the kitchen after family means, I started noticing more and more pieces went missing. Ha! So I needed to purchase new flatware just to be able to have enough forks to set the table. This Mikasa set was exactly what I needed. The twelve serving set is perfect for our needs, and the serving pieces are fantastic. This set will look beautiful on the table, whether setting for a formal or informal dinner. I rarely get the silver out any more, and it is nice to have flatware that is pretty enough an of such good quality that it can be used for any occasion. I thought this was an excellent value for the money, and I would definitely recommend this set of flatware.
