So that you can have precision in mixing drinks. There's no other reason, really. This jigger is advertised as "1 oz / 1-1/2 oz ... but what you get is an absurd combination of metric and imperial markers. The small side is marked "3/4 oz" and "1/2 oz", while the larger side is only in metric. Even doing the conversions, the lines are dubious, especially the 3/4 oz line. Plus, the marking on the website photo is "Barfly", while the jiger arrives with a crooked "Mercer Culinary" logo. ### ⭐⭐ Very Crudely Constructed *by H*** on Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2021* The media could not be loaded. Β This isn't a very well made Jigger. The metal feels thin and light weight...Just slightly bulkier than a disposable aluminum pie plate. The edges are very crudely and unevenly rolled over, leaving large gaps for moisture and grime to collect. The internal lines are very faint, so in a dark bar it's hard to hit your mark. Overall I don't recommend this jigger. It will work, but for the price there are much MUCH better options on the market. I returned mine and replaced it with the Pina Slim Jigger, so far I'm very happy with that purchase. ### ⭐ Sits crooked! Poorly made.
