Grizzly Industrial G7297-12" Disc Sander

My husband is really impressed with how well and true this sander runs. It's quiet and runs smooth. It has exceeded his expectations.As a side note: Grizzly provides great customer service. If you have an issue reach out to them and they will take good care of you.

My wife wanted to buy me a much higher priced Delta sander for my birthday but I have bought several Grizzly tools in the past and have had very good luck with them. I also liked the idea of a 1 hp motor so we saved some money and bought the Grizzly. It is very powerful and smooth running. You're not going to bog it down. The table is light aluminum but worked well and was easy to set at the proper angle. The rest is heavy cast iron and a very solid piece of equipment. It came with a sanding pad which was easy to put on. I would not hesitate to recommend this sander.

On March 1, 2024 I received a Grizzley Industrial 12” Disc Sander, Model No. G7297 through Amazon, Order No. 113-1768234-1492265. After securing, adjusting and then using the disc sander, I find it to be a mixed bag of quality, some great and some not so good. The motor, disk guard, sanding disk, base and switch are everything I would expect from a Grizzly product. They’re made for frequent use and built to last. The worktable (P7297041) and table locks (P7297019) on the other hand perform like add-ons from Harbor Freight. Actually, I’d expect better from HF. The worktable is made of aluminum (probably to save on shipping costs), but it’s light weight results in a great deal of vibration during use. The table locks supporting the worktable are not user-friendly and are poorly designed. They’re difficult to square up, change the table angle and difficult to tighten properly. In all, I’d give the overall quality of the sander a C grade due to the deficiencies.

This is an awesome disc sander for the money. 12 inches gives you a lot of sanding area, and the motor has some power.

Heavy, smooth running, powerful sanding action. The platform adjusts easily and doesn't slip when I'm using the sander. This is a great heavy duty machine.

Great sander, no run out and so quiet. Dust port is poorly cast and the table, just throw that away and make your own out of 3/4" MDF because the one they give is junk and to small for my needs. All in all a good buy and great sander.

I was excited to have it delivered, should have went and picked one up. Barbour freight , half the price , same or better quality.I spent an hour re-tapping the table guide/gauge holes . They were not deep enough for that screw so you couldn’t tighten the gauge.I would have returned it…but I needed to use immediately. And what a hassle , this thing weighs a ton !

75% of heavy tools I have purchased on line have been dammaged in shipping, no fault of Grizzly's, they packaged this very well, the only reason it got a 4 star is the table is a little hard to keep in adjustment.
