Great malted milkshakes
This is good stuff. It tastes delicious, especially in ice cream. It stays powdery and doesn’t clump up like the carnation stuff. It is I think very expensive but nonetheless, I find myself buying it. It works well for baking, and although carnation is better for mixing straight into milk in my opinion, this stuff has a more malty flavor making it may go to for malted milkshakes.

King Arthur a wins a 50 year quest for Authentic Soda Shop Chocolate Malted Milk Shake
I tested several malt powders, and King Arthur took me back 50 years to an authentic Soda Shop Chocolate Malted Milk Shake, runner up was Hoosier Hill Farm Malted, and 3rd place Nestle Carnation Chocolate Malted Milk Powder. Best results were with a base of Tillamook Malted Moo Shake Ice Cream (2 cups) as a base, added Hersey's 2 Tablespoons chocolate syrup, 2 Tablespoons King Arthur, 3-6 Tablespoons 1/2 and 1/2 Cream (depending on creaminess desired), blended 1-2 minutes ( I used Ninja 7 in 1 ice cream blender); Hoosier Farms had a fair malted flavor but seemed artificial (Used again 2 Tablespoons); and last Nestles Chocolate Malted (3 Tablespoons) which tasted a little like Ovaltine and I could not quite determine if it was malted or some other flavor. King Arthur blended well, but Hoosiers and Nestle's should be warmed in a stick-proof pan and stirred with 3 or 4 Tablespoons cream or 1/2 and 1/2 (stirred to dissolve initially or it will taste granular as if it contained little bits of sand grains.) King Arthur also gave a great malt taste with ordinary Vanilla Ice Cream with 4-5 tablespoons Hershey's Chocolate syrup, 3-6 Tablespoons cream and 2 Tablespoons King Arthur powder. Thank you King Arthur for the nostalgia of my childhood.

I LoVe THiS! 💚💜🤍🖤
My favorite! LOL, but sometimes it's just not enough! I can "raw-dog" the powder, via my favorite spoon 🥄 & eat it, ALL, in one night! I do that with cocoa powder, too! I know that I'm WeiRD, but Weird is Great! 🤣🤣🤣🤣💚💜🤍🖤

Stinks But Delicious
I almost threw it out. Horrible, horrible smell. But delicious flavor.

Good taste for classic milkshakes
I had been craving a classic malted milkshake for months and couldn’t find malt powder in any of my local grocery stores. This arrived quickly, tastes great, and the first tub is almost already gone. Will be ordering another one soon as this is the perfect size for our pantry.

Accidentally Became a Malt Person
I bought this because I wanted a better vanilla malt. I did not expect to form a habit. This is diner-level, stainless-steel-counter, paper-hat perfection. One scoop turned my innocent vanilla shake into something that tastes like it was made by a grumpy professional who’s been doing this since 1954 and doesn’t tolerate nonsense. “Amazing” feels inadequate. This malt doesn’t enhance flavor — it moves in and takes over. In the best way. If you’re on the fence: don’t be. Just accept that your blender is about to get a lot more action.

Malted Milk Powders Comparison (4 brands)
In the interest of helping those who are looking for good malted milk powder, I offer the following review. I compared 4 major brands available on Amazon and present my findings. Note that these prices are as of June 2018. Malt Powder Comparison King Arthur Flour by King Arthur Flour Norwich, VT Ingredients : malted barley, wheat, milk, water, hydrolized wheat gluten, baking soda, salt 12 oz for $ 17.95 > $1.50 per oz Extremely expensive ! Tastes no better than the others. Added gluten ? Niche company catering to foodies with big budgets. Soda Fountain by CTL Foods Colfax, WI Ingredients : wheat flour, malted barley extracts, dry whole milk, sucrose, salt, sodium bicarbonate 1 lb (16 oz) for $ 7.00 > $0.44 per oz Tasted good but didn't jump out with flavor. Don't like that sucrose is added. Let me add my own sugar. Great price. Hoosier Hill Farm by Hoosier Hill Farm Ft. Wayne, IN Ingredients : barley malt, wheat flour, milk, bicarbonate of soda, salt 1.5 lbs (24 oz) for $ 13.99 > $0.58 per oz Tasted fine, a bit clumpy - need to blend well. Probably the best price / value and no bad additives. Company specializes in dried foods. Carnation by Nestle Glendale, CA Ingredients : wheat flour, malted barley extracts, milk, soy lecithin, salt, sodium bicarbonate 13 oz for $3.54 > $0.27 per oz Super cheap price, classic great taste, blended way better than any others. Two strikes are Nestle (evil corporation) and soy lecithin (see links below). https://***.zmescience.***/science/nestle-company-pollution-children/ https://***.thehealthyhomeeconomist.***/soy-lecithin-healthy-or-unhealthy/ Truth is the Carnation tasted the most like what I remember malt flavor to be. I try not to support companies like Nestle though. CTL adds sucrose which I don't like when things are added by a factory. I wanted to like the King Arthur best, thinking that spending more would pay off, but I can't taste the difference and the cost is insanely high. So Hoosier gets my vote for good value and no weird ingredients. Just need to blend it well. I did a blind taste test with a mixture of almond milk, half n half and chocolate syrup. I am just a dude, not a professional taste tester - someone with a more refined palatte could maybe detect nuances that I could not. Hope that helps :)
