Bought for a gift and she loves it.

I never read the Nancy Drew series when I was young. So, I discovered this series via HER computer games. I decided to read the books. These books were written in the 1930's. Writing styles have changed since then. There is no profanity, sex, or gore. So, I guess "modern" readers would find them drab and boring. I, however, am enjoying them very much. It also gives me a glimpse in a by-gone age where people cleaned up for dinner. Ate dinner as a family and exchanged one's thoughts and problems. The mystery aspect is pretty good. These books were written for young readers, so some of the plots may seem pretty tame or even lame by today's standards. These books are no match for Agatha Christie, of course. All in all, this 69 year old is enjoying reading how our young sleuth solves mysteries. If you're tired of the "modern" fare, sit down and enjoy one of these quick reads.

The book was as it was described

It's a Nancy Drew book, and true Nancy Drew fans will know exactly what they're getting into with any of the books. My mother had every single one (as well as a few first edition copies from the original books, which were somewhat longer) and I have read every single one. But this one is by far my favorite of the series. While I read every book at least once, I've read this one multiple times, so now that I'm creating my own book collection, I've happily added this one. I wish modern adaptations of Nancy would go back to the way she was, a simple country girl who was kind to a fault, but clever and competent.

As usual Carolyn Keene has produced another nancy drew winner. Possibly the best reading a young person can have , full of wholesome home life, good friends, and while there are bad guys and girls, they always get their just rewards without deaths, sexual assaults, and mayhem. I first read Nancy Drew mysteries when I was 8years old, I am now 72 and am reading them all again. They are still fun, entertaining, and educational to read. I recommend them to anyone who would like to have fun reading, and does not know what a ROADSTER is,or was.

I can see why I enjoyed these mysteries back when I was twelve or so. I looked forward to getting a new one every year from Santa Claus. Of course, the setting, language, and societal norms are as dated as I am but it’s kind of fun to go back and think about what was considered “spirited” and “courageous” in a young woman of the 50’s and 60’s.

this is the best book I've read about nancy drew. the twist g the mystery everything is just so awesome I can't keep it down. if you want a summary, here's one... nancy drew and her friend helen corning meet a new friend laura pendleton. she was having very arrogant guardian and was finding it jard to live with them. while, at the same time, nancy's father, carson drew asled his daughter to solve an embezzlement case at monroe national bank. will nnncy be able to solve the mystery…?

Amazing book, the characters are so detailed and I love the villains I also love the plot of this book. So clever!

I think this book is a great mystery!! Nancy is in danger of her friend's guardians. It's exciting,and a challenge for Nancy. A cracking story, in a cracking book!!

The book came in good condition. Pages were well bound. All in all a good buy
