Perfect Solution for REALLY BAD Dog Pee Smell
We had to go out of town in the middle of housetraining our rescue dog, Leo. We hired a sitter to stay with him while we were gone, with instructions to keep him fenced into the kitchen area when she wasn't at the house. Well, Leo jumped the fence and decided the dining room was his toilet. I attribute this to the sitter leaving him for extended periods of time (no, she will never be hired again). That being said, the smell we came home to at the end of one week away was dreadful. Just that really "sharp" dirty smell. Bummer because we just bought our house and its very nice. I asked my mom for help with a solution -- the carpet cleaning machine we rented from Home Depot was about 50% effective in removing stains and some of the smell, but that sharp gross smell still persisted, it was the first thing you smelled when entering the house. Yuck! She told me about this product, Airx, and I bought some immediately. We've done three applications on the dining room floor, living room floor, bedroom floor, hallways, TV room (man our dog sitter sucked!) --- the stuff REALLY WORKS. It literally "eats" the odor and stains away. So cool and no, not freaky like I kinda thought it might be. The smell in the dining room is about 95% gone - I will do another application soon to finish it off. You just pour it in a spray bottle, and spray it full strength where its needed. EASY. No more sharp gross smell in our home - thank goodness.Another cool thing that it did for us -- our cats had thrown up in the entryway (don't we have all the luck?) and a big orange stain remained, even after cleaning it with Rug Doctor spray and soap and water. So we sprayed the Airx on the stain. It ATE IT RIGHT UP! No more stain. Gone without a trace! Too cool.I'm so thankful for this product and will always have it on hand. I bet it would be awesome for households with children or aging parents -- buy this for your home, you'll be glad you did!

Doesn't Just Cover Up the Smell
This works relatively well, but it takes time.I have five cats, two of whom are somewhat territorial and think they need to pee on the couch.I've sprayed the couch with this several times... usually 2 or 3 times a week for a couple of weeks, just to be sure that it got deep in there and worked its magic. The product has a light odor of its own, but it certainly smells better than cat urine, and it seems to work to actually consume the noxious substances instead of just covering them up.

This is the product to use to eliminate cat urine smell!
This is the product to use to get rid of cat urine smell! I was skeptical, even with the 5-star reviews, because the much-touted Nature's Miracle did NOT do the trick. Sure, it would eliminate the smell for a week or so, but the smell would return. In my case, my cat had peed on the memory foam mattress and it had seeped down into the foam. After actually POURING Nature's Miracle on the stain, the smell would return after a week or two. That gets expensive. This product is enough to last a year or more. You can experiment with strengths or use full strength. I decided to go with a 1 part Airx RX 66 to 3 parts water, and that not only eliminated the smell, it actually ate the stain itself away. With covers removed, that telltale yellow stain disappeared over the course of 48 hours. There is a trick though: This is an enzymatic product and has live bacteria in it. That means that it will travel through the liquid to feed on the organic material. If that liquid is only what comes out mixed with the spray, when it dries the action is minimized. The trick is to dampen the area with clear water first. Then spray. For my mattress, I poured water from a glass to simulate the original "pee event" into the exact center of each circular stain. Then, I sprayed the spot thoroughly with the RX66. The principle is that the bacteria will migrate through the water you poured and will be more effective. The result was no more pee smell! With three cats, this has been a lifesaver. Now, I have a waterproof cover on the mattress so it only would affect the covers if they have another accident.

Worked extremely well! A year and a half and no smells.
Bought a house where an old lady had lived (and passed away), and she had a Chihuahua... Now little dogs aside I don't think I can put the blame entirely on the dog as I heard from the neighbors she had mobility problems. But, back to the product. This stuff actually did the trick!!! I had a HUGE amount of urine on the wood and the house was built in 1860, so thick planks of solid wood that ran under the walls. Replacing the floor was really not an economical option. It took me the whole summer and part of the fall to take care of the mess between mopping, drying, sanding, ultimately though I think this stuff had the biggest impact. After SEVERAL applications this stuff made the biggest difference. And after 5 months the only difference was some tannin color compared to the rest (it started out black, and I mean black). Sealed it with some paint made to seal stuff like that in and it's been a year and a half and there's really no smell at all. Hugely impressed.

Doesn't work completely, but has nice fragrance.
I have treated the same cat spray spots and doggie piddles (from previous owner's pets; we have no pets) in our carpet with four different enzyme cleaners and am sad to report that none of these work entirely. I have also tried vinegar, baking soda, washing soda and borax home rememdies. The airborne smells are much better and company doesn't notice it as much as I do, but nose to the floor and it's still there. Only true solution is to replace the carpet, painting Kilz on the subfloor. Of all the enzyme cleaners, however, this one had the most pleasant fragrance during the treatment process.
