What is the temperature range on both the cold and hot sides?

The hot is 205°, cold is 38°. My wife makes hot tea all the time. Great machine - we love it!

Does this unit come with a 5 gallon jug?

No, the unit does not have a 5 gallon jug. We use Crystal Springs Bottles now, but most should fit. We have used several others that worked well too.

Does this unit have a filter you need to change?

not that I am aware of. The point of using bottled water to begin with tis that it is already filtered, or more pure than tap water.
