Excellent value, excellent pen - a few quirks
This is a follow-up/edit of my review. This is a great pen. It's inexpensive price, so I wasn't expecting much. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It feels solid, but not too heavy. As a big guy, I would appreciate a heavier pen; but my wife likes the weight of this one (BTW, it works well as a hair pin).I have not tested it out on glass, but don't doubt that it will break glass. It's good that it comes with a belt holster because if you put it in your picket, you will undoubtedly make a hole in your clothes. It also writes decently well, and has Parker refills, so they are easy to replace. The first cartridge that came with it was crap, though. When I inspected it because of some bleeding, the whole thing came apart and I was barely able to get it back together before getting ink all over myself. The second insert seems to be working fine. This pen requires you to unscrew it...which is strange because the cap doesn't fit well on the other side, so you pretty-much have to write with the cap off. It does keep the pen sealed, though (in case it leaks). If the ink cartridge explodes (as did mine), there's no way the ink can get out of the pen.For the price, I can't see a better value - and it even comes with its own case. I've been underwhelmed before, but this pen has pleasantly surprised me. For it's value, I think it's one of the best deals I've come across.

Great product at a great price!
This tactical pen is light, well-built and functional. When making a fist around it, the textured rings make for a comfortable grip. Be sure to position it so the clip doesn't dig into your hand. When you're not using it as a pen, the tip still looks like a pen so much that you might try to write with it before realizing you have to unscrew the cap. That's not a bad thing either -- just a testament to the craftsmanship, in my opinion. With the cap unscrewed, the splash of neon blue is a pleasant surprise and a potent reminder that you don't have it in "tactical mode". And to kick things up a notch, what a great addition it is to have the pouch and 4 ink refills come along for the ride. It drives me crazy having to hunt down refills, so this will save me time and effort when it's time to switch one out.

A Good Tactical Pen
I've lost a couple of Smith and Wesson tactical pens and I wasn't keen on spending $20 on the possibility of losing another. So for less than half the cost the S&W pen, I decided to try this Sminiker Tactical Pen. It is a very solid pen, especially for the money. It has a nice point that looks like it would break a window in an emergency scenario. The pen has textured ridges which provide good purchase for a solid grip. The pen appears it would be effective in a self defense situation. I have average sized hand; the point sticks out about 1.5" when holding the pen with my thumb over the end. If you have very large hands this pen might be on the small side for you. My only complaints apply to the cap. Whereas the S&W cap pulled off, the Sminiker cap screws off. It takes 3-4 full twists to come off. It makes for a solid unit, but pulling it out of your pocket to write with will take a couple seconds. Also, the cap is not designed to be placed on the other end while writing. You can place it on there, but it is basically wedging it on the taper of the pen. Overall this is a great tactical pen for the price. I would buy again and would give as a gift to the tactically minded.

GREAT QUALITY PEN FOR THE SMALLER HAND - LADIES, YOUTHS, ETC.
Love the simplicity of this tactical pen! It can be carried closed by all but the largest hands to provide an effective, one-sided weapon. With the cap removed, it can be carried by smaller hands as a two-sided weapon. The Parker-copy refills are excellent and write very smoothly! Changing the cartridge is a breeze!Without the cap the pen can be used by all but the largest hands. Large hands need a bit more length, so the cap can be jammed (push and twist) onto the top end of the pen. The clip is the weakest point and simply cannot maintain the pen safely on a strap (purse, shoulder bag, fanny pack, etc.).In the attached photos I've included a shot of a VERY large hand holding the pen as a weapon ... only one end is useful. The other two shots are suggestions for making this pen the ULTIMATE and UNEQUALED, BEST TACTICAL PEN ON THE MARKET! To strengthen the clip so it WILL NOT LET GO ON IT'S OWN, simply switch to the clip type used by the other main style of such pens as shown. To lengthen the pen so ALL hand sizes can handle it as a two-sided weapon, simply add the tungsten tip end along with the other clip style without any changes, as shown. This adds about 22mm to the pen's closed length. Finally, add a threaded section onto the main body so that the cap can be SCREWED onto the pen when used for writing and will NOT fall off and be lost, which is the case now with it simply "jammed" onto the pen. Happily, the EXCELLENT carrying case will not have to be changed to accommodate the longer pen.I'd LOVE to see Sminiker modify the pen in the ways I've suggested. I think they'd put all the others to shame (and out of the tactical pen business)! Oh, yes, one more thing: if you can do it, I'd change it's name to "Stinger" or "Stingray" once you've got the new model in production. Good luck!
