This is just a switch that open/closes with temps so will it work?** A: The switch is controlling a heating element in an enclosed space containing plastics, styrene and perishable food, the engineers designed the defrost cycle to behave in a certain way, maximizing frost removal while minimizing defrosting of food at a given set of temperatures. I would recommend that getting a replacement that is an exact match for temps. It might work, but if it fails the consequences are not trivial in many scenarios. I will say that this unit has performed in my application without problem since install. **Q: Will this fit my kitchen aid model krfc300ess00** A: I believe you're asking if the part will work for your refrigerator, if so you better be a decent electrician cause the schematics for Kitchen Aid model is a little different than the Frigidaire model that I successfully installed into. However, in most cases the common function of the Thermostat are all basically the same. You're going to have to take apart you freezer panel where the cooling coils are located and look at the wiring in order to determine if the part can be terminated/installed without making major or minor modifications. As far as if it can physically fit, if there's room, then yes.
