Great strings!
My review is somewhat unqualified since the last pair of Thomastik strings have been on my bass for nearly 20 years. I have to do some luthier work and decided to replace the strings when done with the body work. Since I mainly play the string bass at church, the worship leader paused at positively commented on the sound quality of the strings now emanating a warm, rich, and vibrant sound when Played. Well worth the investment (and hoping these will last as long as the last pair!!).

These new strings really make my Bass sound so much better!
The sound improved dramatically, brighter, louder, and the intonation is right on. It didn't take much playing for the new strings to break in. They feel great, I am totally satisfied with the new strings. The price was very much in line with those at music stores and other online sellers.

These Co$t Too Much, But For Me, They're The Best
The loudest acoustic bass strings I can find. That's enough right there. Can cut through a 50+ person concert band, or lay down the beat for Country and folk w/o an amp.BUT: They *%#!%#!! co$t too much. These have gone up in price consistently every year while remaining completely unchanged. I don't think that's fair, but , I still buy them. They really aren't good for bowing, but I use them for everything because of their pizz volume. Do not buy these if you are looking for an arco string.

Best value out there
These strings are the best value out there, what with the others being much more expensive. If you’re a pizz player, this is your string. For classicalArco literature, the sound is perhaps not the quality you want, but the price wins out and overall it’s a great string.

Better sound than plastic strings
I replaced my plastic strings with these strings and now I love the sound! My old plastic strings were easy on my fingers, but the sound wasn’t there. These are tougher on my finger pads, but don’t all good bass players get calluses anyway?

The Benchmark of Strings for Jazz Bass
THE strings for jazz bass, anything else is less. And I slap these strings as well as pluck modern pizz. style, These are not nearly as easy to bow as Flexor, Piastro, or Helicore. They do take some finesse with the bow (and don't sound quite as good, but close). If your primary playing is pizz. then get these strings. If you primarily playing is arco, stick with whatever string you're using. As far as a hybrid string, I haven't tried them but reports from others that have haven't been too good.
