Sunstar Industries Dropping Spider Prop 10 Inch Tall

i’ve had many of these spiders (i run a haunted house every year.) on this one, the string caught up in mechanism. It never worked, but missed the return window by not testing it till the night before Halloween but this is an expensive dud.

This was a gift. It did not include a battery and I wish I had know that so I could have provided batteries as well. Recipient loved it.

My experience with this spider is that it never stops working...up and down incessantly. I thought it would "rest" at the top until it heard a sound or something moved it, but I think the movement climbing back up the string is enough to send him down again. I had to turn it off and won't put it back on until Halloween. Otherwise, I might have to kill this spider and I hate to kill anything!

Had a similar spider that was a lot of fun. First one didn't work at all. It was replaced for free. the replacement drops and climbs on occasion, but not really sound sensitive. would I buy it again ? No. It does, however look good hanging on the wall.

It didn't drop down easy - I have had another one years ago - any light sound it set it off & worked every time. This one worked only with a very loud sound. The Kids loved it when it would work though. Its a good size for decoration for Halloween.

I ordered this while at a local pizza joint. They had their spider hooked up over and next to the register so it kept going off when people came to pay for things. I watched it go at least a dozen times so I used my amazon mobile and secured my own. Came decently packaged and was easy to unwrap and install the 2 AA batteries. So far I have hooked it over the threshold of three doorways and only managed to scare my dog when she barked (she's now down to a single bark and a cowering period while the spider reels itself back up) . It's a little noisy when it's reeling itself in and the over all quality says to be I may get a few years careful use out of it. The nature of the spider is that it will drop something between 2-3 feet in a freefall and the led green eyes blink. It's quite scary when you don't expect it. In all it's a fine edition to my Halloween decor.

Absolutely horrible. Worst purchase ever. Dried hot glue visibly all over it holding the felt together, the velcro came off the first time I ever tried to replace the batteries, and on top of that it doesn't even work! It'll only drop down if I continuously clap as loudly as I can right next to it, and even then it'll start to go, then come back up after maybe one inch. Yelling doesn't work either. I am completely horrified. I want a refund!!!

My family loves this spider! This is the second one I'm purchasing. My original is at least a dozen years old and the motor finally gave up. Boris comes out every year at the beginning of October, and my kids spend a month clapping to watch him fall down and crawl back up. We hang him in a doorway and have caught visitors off guard at parties. What a kick.
