Every page is an example of decorative layouts of modern Bali. I saw a low 3 star review, yeah. This isn't an architectural manual “how to” build Balinese homes. Its inspiring not technical.

More a style book than anything edifying. There are no floor plans and therefore no context and no way of understanding the relationship between inside and outside, which is the key to this kind of architecture. A lot of "lifestyle" photos a la Martha Stewart, close-ups with an emphasis on native handicrafts. Nigh impossible to figure out the relationship of the spaces to each other. Not even a decent discussion of the weather, which at 85 degrees and 85% relative humidity, requires a through breeze in every space to prevent the interiors from being stifling.The style appropriates a lot from recent luxury hotel development in the tropics, with infinity pools galore, chunky furniture and rough crafts. Luxury hotels being aspirational spaces, it is no surprise that the features have migrated to domestic architecture.

This a book of beautiful photographs taken of houses in Bali.I enjoyed the architecture and the gardens.I also highly recommend Tropical Style, which encompasseshouses in different locales of Southeast Asia.

If you love Bali this is a nice addition to your library. Get ALL of Made Wijaya's books first though to see gardens and interiors.

A beautiful book well balanced in terms of text and pictures. The quality of the pictures is second to none. Compared to other books about Balinese style mostly focused on interiors, this one captures not only the essence of the interiors but also open spaces and gardens.

Good overall but not as informative as Bali Modern another book by same author. PHotography excellent.

Ce livre est très intéressant, car il conjugue les sources d'inspirations ethniques et contemporaines. Le mobilier balinais reste élégant et intemporel, et peut s'intégrer dans beaucoup d'univers.

C(est un très bon livre qui reflète bien les maisons Balinienne, je le conseille a tous ceux qui veulent se replonger dans Bali. On y trouve de nombreuses idées de décoration

Ein sehr schönes Fotobuch. Gezeigt werden die Wohnstätten überwiegend begüterter Ausländer auf Bali.Die Fotos sind ausgezeichnet. Die Texte sind ansprechend.Wohl kein Buch für die Realität, aber eines zum Träumen.
